I have been looking at the Dewalt sander for a while since I have their batteries and my Ozito one is just crap (my other Ozitos are doing their jobs well in comparison) …

The regular price of this one is between $230 ~ 290, and it never seems to be on sale from the big retailers, i.e. Bunnings, Total Tools, etc. The 3x Camel suggests the price is around the all-time low, hence a good deal.

This is an overseas model, DCW210B vs DCW210-xj for Aussie ones. From my experiences they should be identical tools, and the difference is the crappy marketing thing of the 20v in the US.

  • The 5 amp battery is also discounted if you're after one. https://amzn.asia/d/fc7ee4f

Not as good as the deal a few weeks back off eBay

    • P sure that was a pricing error

      • Probably not - I bought the exact same tool in June 2021 for $117.57 - AUD. Listed as such on the Amazon AU website and still appears as an order etc.

        It works great.

It was delivered from the USA but apart from the part number the tool is identical to one bought here - I checked vary carefully. Just couldn't ignore the price.

        • I thought he was talking about the battery eBay deal that got killed after like 2hrs, p sure that one was pricing error.

The Black+ Decker one is a very similar design to this, and about half the price. And you can grab a $20 battery converter on ebay/AliExpress tousenyour existing batteries

    • +1

Black and Decker? May as well buy some noname brand off Ali express

      • -2

Except black + Decker and DeWalt come from the same company

        • +2

That's a ridiculous inference. That's like saying a Fiat 500 and a Ferrari F8 are essentially the same car because the brands are owned by the same company.

        • +3

          Maybe read this comparison

They may be owned by the same company but little similarity in the products

          Among other points
"Even though the two brands have similar origins and are now owned by the same company, their products are very different.

Black & Decker is a brand targeted at the casual consumer, the homeowner. Its tools, while decent for their price, are not as well manufactured as their DeWalt counterparts. Its warranty is not as long – and it becomes void if the tool is used outside of “own use.”"

Yeah, and they ARE NOTHING alike … prove us wrong, buy them both, work them at the same rate till one dies and upload the video to youtube … or STFU , cheap tools are rarely as good as the more expensive and proven brands! … take it from me, have found out the expensive way!

  • Do these work with the 18v battery compartment we have here? Just always hate how they give you different voltage for countries.

    • Yeah they do. I bought it back in June as old mate posted above. I bought a battery here in Aus and it works fine.

      • Thanks for the confirmation. Might be time to get a new sander.

    • +1

Yeah US 20V (max) and Aus 18V (nominal) are identical batteries with different labels. It's just marketing.

  • Can you hook a piolishig pad onto this? or just spend the extra and get the DCM848B

  • +1

It is us model so won’t have warranty in Australia through dewalt.

  • This is a great sander

I got one in a bundle last year with a 2ah battery, charger (that won't work here but I already have one) and bag for about the same price as this deal

  • Unless you have something else for "buy 2 save 5%", adding https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/0892760524 to cart should save you ~$3.5 :)

  • Most Ozito crap is crap!
