Meme worthy watch but I actually think the blackout design looks good with the nylon strap.

Hmmm $80 for a plastic case Timex. Is the lens plastic too?

To put it kindly I'm not sure about that one.

    • +2

Yeah lol lens is described as "Acrylic", so with the resin case it's plastic on plastic. My guess is you are paying a premium for the Mulga collaboration.
The watch is a whopping $179 on Mulga's own website.

Some Timex watches have a very loud ticking sound, so just a heads up for that as well.

Answer to below - Yes see Indiglo here.

        • Thanks. I see lume on the hands as well, so I guess it has both then.

The Indiglo backlighting looks really evenly spread for the whole face, I will give Timex points for that.

I updated the specs with the detailed ones from Mulga's website. Which mentions the Acrylic Lens, Indiglo and lists 50m water resistance instead of 5ATM.

God I love my weekender but bloody hell the ticking is next level. I usually store mine within my sock drawer haha

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: " I usually store mine within my sock drawer haha"

Lol it can't be that bad can it? Should be at least quieter than a quartz wall clock (with typical square AA movement box) mounted right above head level?
Or is it really that bad lol.

If I force myself to listen for the wall clock I can hear it, but 99.9% of the time I can't hear it at all.

          • @Jimothy Wongingtons: I have a bunch of Timexes, and have never noticed the ticking.

            • @rosebank: "and have never noticed the ticking."

Maybe it depends on the person then.

But yeah still worthwhile pointing out just in case you do here the ticks.

            • @rosebank: @blacksmithnpc @rosebank

Might only be specific to the weekenders
              (Google timex weekender ticking loud)

Mine is about 8+ years old. It might have been addressed in newer batches.

I live in a quiet street and at night when I have the weekender on my night stand yeah it’s REAL loud lol

              • @Jimothy Wongingtons: "I live in a quiet street and at night when I have the weekender on my night stand yeah it’s REAL loud lol"

Yeah I guess there are many things that could affect how audible the ticking is. I don't sleep in the same room as the wall clock so yeah.
Background noise, how sensitive your hearing is, what frequency the ticking is relative to background noise.

    • By the way wondering if you can help me with this info.

Specs say it has "INDIGLO® Night-Light".
From a quick search Timex Indiglo means the entire back panel lights up, like a digital watch. Is this correct?

      • Correct, that's what INDIGLO does.

This is a collaboration with an Australian artist. https://mulgatheartist.com.au/collections/mulga-x-timex

You ALWAYS denigrate anything you didn't post. Especially if its Autralian.

      • A true ozb cares about monetary value above all else.

An $80 plastic watch with an acrylic lens is just throwing away good money. it'll get scratched up so quickly, it ain't even funny. Horrible value.

    • Yeah, but this watch works just as well as a $380 moonswatch.

      • By that logic, just buy a $20 casio?

  • +1

i'd buy it if there was a difficult difficult lemon difficult version

  • Fantasic. This is the perfect watch to wear when I go to lemon parties.

    • Here's a video you might enjoy lol. You probably seen them already though.

      https://youtu.be/AJnSaLwjRh0

      And a part 2 https://youtu.be/Y9GrHn5BKjo

      • Lol never seen them. I want that Alien watch

        • That swirly scribble one LOL. Honestly the way he adjusts it, it seems like it's 100% a joke and has no movement.

Same with the Ambush watch bracelet. I looked them up to see how much it was and they have some cheaper ones selling on Etsy, but complaints the metal scratches very easily.

These are cool too. I have a couple of Qs already, but these are much prettier. Deciding which one to buy (will prob buy both)

    • I got a $20 off $99 spend pop up for new sign ups which you could apply to either of those.

I have a vague memory of signing up once though and never getting it YMMV.

Another popup banner took me here https://www.theiconic.com.au/new-customer20/
If you read the T&C's I think they are separate to the $20 off newsletter sign up offer.
So I think you just create a new account, then use the provided code at checkout.

$75 off $350 could work for you? (if buying both)

Timex is not listed in the excluded brands.

      • Most of the time they exclude sale items, but I'll give it a try. Thx for the heads up!

        • Yeah personally, if I can't get the price I want with the code I back out. But that's just me.

  • maybe stonetoss or harambe be meme worthy

    • Honestly I know I am pushing it, but anything genuinely meme worthy does not end up on products.

The closest I have ever seen was a bunch of popular memes (at the time) showing up as prizes on a Mexican cereal box.

The most meme worthy mainstream product I have seen would probably be Minion stuff lol. I almost got the $40 Minion fitness tracker from JB just because I like minion memes.

  • Sold out guys.

I had a feeling it would be popular among consumers (non watch people)😙.

Oh and it's an Aussie artist, right after Australia Day I guess.

    Looks like a kids watch!

Honestly when you see grown ass men with beards who have "Ironman" and "Hulk" wallpapers on their smart phones. It's not that unusual lol.

      • Ah well, as long as they are happy with it!

        • Yeah I mean I think it is sized for adults. Might also make a good gift for a teenager.

Edit: Also since it's technically "limited units". Some people might have just bought it to put on display.
