Unlike BargainsGrabber I fly on better airlines than Jetstar out of Melbourne and get to enjoy the free "luxurious food" and alcohol from the Virgin Lounge.

Anyway enough smack, here's a deal on this 25 in 1 magnetic screwdriver set that's cheaper than last time. The main difference is that the handle is plastic instead of aluminium, however there's reports the previous deal may be plastic too.

Either way it's good enough to go in the toolbox or glovebox as a spare, because you can never have too many screwdrivers!

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

Is that an Apricot on top of a biscuit I see???? Plus 1 for the write up!

    • +1

Yes. Sadly there was no peanut butter or vegemite to smear on the cracker to go with the apricot.

      • That actually looks really good…

fly on better airlines than Jetstar out of Melbourne

After 2.5hrs and paying $65 just for going over by 2kg, I’m finally home

        • I call that lesson learnt. Or if you fly Jetstar again upgrade so you get baggage, Qantas points and $10 onboard credit. Sometimes it works out to be cheaper than Virgin.

        • +6

2kg, I would've easily shoved it into my pockets to avoid the jetstar tax

        • +1

Waited 3 hours in Sydney. Then they cancelled my flight, and offered me a refund. Huh? I'm still stuck in Sydney.
Cost 700$ to get a last minute ticket from a competent airline.

Apparently OneStar cancel about 7% of their flights, compared to much less (ie: Rex is 0.7%).

          Never again

  • Don't they have Sapporo?

    • Nah. No Kirin either sadly.

  • For some reason it came up as US $3.79 for me. Even better.

I have a few things like this, but not with magnetic holds so I always get the bits everywhere. So this should be nice.

    • +3

That's the ex GST price. They add it at checkout.

      • Ah, gotcha. Turns out I had some coins or whatever anyway so it took more off. So, winning regardless.

        • +3

In all the big sales you get coins for viewing products, adding to the cart, wishlist and so on. You can get some pretty good discounts through the app with them.

I don't mention it in deals because people tend to sook about discounts requiring a bit of work.

$0.69 for me. Guess would have been some unused coupon in my account

    • +6

      New user coupon

get off this site.. airport food is 400% markup, at the very least. Only thing worse is cinema 'food'

    • +2

      But he said it's free…

      • oh.. missed that.. that being said, nothing is truly 'free' tho.. how much did that velocity gold take to get? 10 flights?

        • +5

I fly for work pretty frequently. The perk is I get to use my own FF.

    • +4

Velocity Gold gives me free lounge access. I'm doing the OzBargain thing by avoiding 400% marked up food by eating for free in the lounge.

Plus an OzBargainer would churn CCs and use reward programs to get them high enough to enjoy access 😉

    • Remember that shop vendors have to pay inflated rent at this premium spot. They have to recoup it from someone.

  • This looks to be in the US $2.99 section (if you can find 2 other items to go along with it)

    • +1

The only gotcha is the GST calculates wrong and it's a lot more than 10%

    • I bought the Choice version with aluminium handle and when it arrived, it looks like a second hand or used ones. Maybe it is a reason why they can sale it so cheap

  • Cheers OP, ordered. I've never used AliExpress before (IKR - L plate OzBargainer), so it came to less than $1 as some welcome deal.
P.S. I know that seat, last time I was in that lounge I was about 4 tables to your left, slightly behind.

    • It's a far more quiet area of the lounge.

    • Me too, never used AliExpress before, is it safe to use credit cards with large credit limits on AliExpress website ?. Any overseas transaction fees for HSBC credit cards or any other charges when delivered. Appreciate your advice. Interested in buying the metal handle one. Thanks

    • I went to the Virgin lounge too, it wasn't what i expected…

      • You've spent too long in the QANTAS lounge!

  • Would these be ok for the PC to unscrew my graphics card, or does it need to be a special magnetic/no static one?

  • Thanks OP got one for seventy cents.

  • +1

I bought one from 3 to US5.99. I think this one is very likely the same thing. The one I bought is decent considering the price.
But, the cover is terrible, it’s the cheapest plastic material and build quality. It’s not that easy to open.
Again for the price it’s ok. If I haven’t bought my xiaomi set, I probably will keep it and I feel it does the job.
Gave it to my mate, he’s happy, he felt the same, it does the job.

    • I got that one too. Agreed the wallet it comes with is average, but I haven't lost any bits yet. No qualms with the quality of the bits or the handle and has been great for the sunglasses and IT repairs I've done.

  • +1

This is a plastic screwdriver (handle).

For a couple of dollars extra you can get this one made of aluminium: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005004725822117.html

    • All that effort and you didn't read the deal description.

      • What effort? It was the first suggested product on your page.

        • You're paying more for a plastic handle. The reviews of it state it's plastic instead of aluminium.

          • @Clear: I see some reviews are saying that. The product page itself says aluminium so the seller must be doing a dodgy. Good pickup.

  • Ordered, thx OP

  • Unbelievable so many Xiaomi copies…and. Wannabes

  • Ordered also! Thanks OP! Been looking but something like this for a while to replace an old one I had earlier that broke. They are very useful!

  • +1

    Ordered for $0.70. Thanks OP.

  • Can’t say I trust the seller with my credit card details at that price so used my Sportsbet Visa card and that worked. had left a few bucks in there for atm fees

Thanks OP have been looking for something like this to unscrew toys to add batteries to it.

    • +4

The seller shouldn't get your CC details, that's handled by AliExpress.

  • Always handy to have magnetic tips with a plastic handle :P

  • +1

The one from the previous deal just arrived. Can confirm the handle is not plastic. However, I don't think it being plastic would be an issue.

  • The one from this deal just arrived (that's quite fast) and yes the handle is plastic but hey I am not complaining for the price.

  • Mine arrived yesterday! Six days delivered to Perth. Plastic handle but decent

  • +1

Arrived a couple of days ago (very fast shipping!). Went to use it today and the brittle plastic handle broke immediately. Now the whole lot goes in the bin : /

    • The screw bits could be used with another screwdriver handle. Raise a dispute and you should be able to get a refund.

      • Yep got an instant refund. I'll keep the bits as they seem decent.

  • Bought one from previous deal and heres my review:
Case is plastic, didn't realise until I got it (thought it was going to be aluminium). Kinda cheap feeling but thick and sturdy. Also mine doesn't sit exactly flush when closed (maybe 0.5-1mm above). The closing mechanism is alright but if you shake the case it can click itself open which mine did in shipping. Case is magnetic so bits dont fall out. Not the easiest to get the bits out but maybe thats just me. The bits and the aluminium handle itself is great. Bits came with a bit of oil on it. Overall pretty decent for the price
