  • It surely can’t support Ryzen 5th generation CPUs as aren’t they the AM5 socket 7000 series?

    • +6

      5th gen is AM4, 7th gen is AM5

      • +1

        According to Wikipedia:
        Zen = 1st generation
        Zen+ = 2nd generation
        Zen 2 = 3rd generation
        Zen 3 = 4th generation
        Zen 4 = 5th generation

        It seems 5th generation does not mean Ryzen 5000 series.

        • +1

          I'm pretty sure the standard is nth generation of a CPU is n-000 series.

          Intel 13th generation -> 13600, 13700, 13900 …
          Ryzen 7th generation -> 7600, 7700, 7900 …
          Ryzen 5th generation -> 5600, 5700, 5800 ….

          But from a technical stand point Ryzen ties its nth generation to the corresponding zen generation, which is confusing af.

      • 5th gen is AM4, 7th gen is AM5

        Pardon me… What happened to gen 6?

    • yeah I'm fairly certain this doesn't support 5th gen - which is the 7000 series.

      Only up to 4th gen the 5000 series

    • +2

      It supports 2000/3000/4000/5000 series AM4 socket cpus, not AM5 socket cpus aka 7000 series. Would be good if op updated to this to make it clear

    Great value and nice to have passive cooling on the chipset - my x570 Aorus Ultra's chipset fan roars when it's above 68'c.. doesn't help that it's situated right under my GPU.

  • Ive got the B550 auros elite and the 3rd m.2 shares lanes with the x16 pcie slot making my gfx card run at x8. wonder if this is the same.

    • +2

      Someone can correct me if im wrong but i think its because the cpu only has 20 pcie lanes. With 2 nvme its a x16, x2, x2 setup, but with three its x8, x4, x4, x4. Even x2 isnt fully capable for pcie 4.0 on nvme, so 3 running at 1 lane each would defeat the purpose of getting such high speed drives.

  • Good price, I was hunting for a while and got one on ebay for $280ish just before christmas.

  • +2

    I love how many usb ports these have, and optical audio

  • Damn it missed it. Looks like back to full price.
