I’ve asked. They don’t allow you to stack the Accor Plus with the Fork promo.

      • you earn "yums" when booking via "The Fork"
and you get (up to 50%) discounts when you pay the bill in Accor restaurants
since they are from 2 different offers they can be stacked
you don't need to "book" the table via Accor plus website to enjoy the Accor plus discount
just present the membership card when paying the bill

        • Oh I was thinking about the part where you redeem the $50 and then use the Accor Plus for the remaining portion at 50%. I don’t believe they allow you to do that.

          • @nightelves: yea, I dont think you can use yums and stack with Accor plus to pay the bill
however, personally I located in VIC and restaurants accepting yums are so limited
so I am not even sure whether there's any accor restaurants accepting yums in the first place

          • @nightelves: I've done this a few times, it depends on the staff and/or their policy. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're prepared to have a chat about it when paying.

    Beware Accor has dodgy practices.
    Especially Accor Timeshare
They offer a free night then do a face to face hard sell of a service that costs tens of thousands of dollars to buy.
You can find the same for sale on Gumtree for a fraction of the price from people desperate to leave.
A relative of mine got the hard sell, explained she couldn't travel to get value from it and was being treated for cancer.
The sales representative of Accor told her she was using her cancer as a poor excuse.
She was very upset by that statement.

I got a call to sign up after staying a few nights at Sydney. I relented and did sign up knowing there is 10 days cooldown period with no reason required, also discount $20 and 4 months interest free instalment. Anyway after researching the nearby luxury hotel availability (found none), I decided to cancel next day. Sent email and ignored, did an online chat and she did everything she can to keep me despite the no-question-asked cool down period. So finally she said she raised a cancellation request to the department that will take a few days to cancel. I was furious at this point. Next few days received an angry, rude call from the first agent that called me. She basically said I got the wrong reason to cancel and it's not about me not being able to find a date (but not looking hard enough).. Well she's not wrong, at this point I'm just completely disgusted at their practise so I said yeah sure just give me the money back. Surprise surprise it takes 5-10 business days to process the credit back. Yep dodgy practise indeed

Thats Accor vacation club not Accor plus
vacation club is a very different membership scheme
they used to hard sell by offering "free" or "extremely cheap" stays with compulsory marketing session

Accor plus on the other hand is very simple and clear membership scheme
You pay the membership fee and enjoy the benefit straight away like discounted dinning, free night x 1 and silver Accor status

If they all operate under the one brand, one company and one CEO then it is difficult to accept the rot is limited to one part of the business.

        • If they all operate under the one brand, one company and one CEO then it is difficult to accept the rot is limited to one part of the business.

          Agree 100%

Someone at Accor said it was ok to treat people like shit so that is enough for me to avoid them where-ever possible. Having said that, they do have some nice hotels, but if I stay there I'll go through a third party agent and deprive them and some margin.

          • @1st-Amendment: My advice is actually the other way round, try to stay away from booking hotels through third party agents as its quite common to see hotel room booking got cancelled without notice from agencies. You can easily find lots of complains like booking through booking.com etc.

            • @littlesoldier:

try to stay away from booking hotels through third party agents as its quite common to see hotel room booking got cancelled without notice from agencies

I travel quite a bit and never had a problem once. Booking direct through the hotel always costs more and takes more effort.

You can easily find lots of complains

That is the Internet. It is a vehicle for people to complain, because most people don't go out of their way to write a review that says 'everything was fine', so you end up with a huge bias of negativity. Another tip, take internet reviews with huge grain of salt.

              • @1st-Amendment: Depends on your needs, but if you have a favoured hotel brand or you have reached certain tier of hotel membership (eg. Accor plus gives you silver Accor status), you can only able to enjoy those perks / benefits if you booked directly with the hotel website, not through agency

It might not be important for everyone, but some benefits like early checkin, late check out, welcome drink, complimentary room upgrade, lounge access are pretty nice IMO

                See here for details: https://www.pointhacks.com.au/how-to-choose-hotel-rewards-pr…

Also, one thing to add, Accor plus gives you 10% off RRP regardless of whether its peak seasons, this basically match most agencies' price. You also have best price guarantee from Accor if you find better rate elsewhere: https://all.accor.com/best-price-guarantee/index.en.shtml

And if you able to reach to Gold or Platinum Accor status, you also get Guaranteed room availability. I have already experiences a few times where I can only find rooms in Accor website while they were fully booked out in third party agencies.

        • I think this just depends on which part of the business you are engaged with
All accor hotels runs with the same CEO too but I don't think most hotel guests will even aware or care about one part of Accor is running the business in a doggy way

It's same as some banks "investment department" try to hard sell financial products unethically while most of the other banking services of the same bank are still up to standard or even highly rated by customers

  • Can you do this to renew an existing membership?

    • Doesn't look like it, just shows me AU pricing even via HK VPN.

  • by the way do i have to check with the restaurant every time i want to dine and enjoy the discount? is the dining discount widely available in Australia?

    • +4

Just go to this link: https://www.accorplus.com/au/restaurants/
type the address (city or country) and search

      • Does anyone know which of their Sydney restaurants offer 25% and above? A few I search offer 10% only.

      • thanks but it doesnt tell you what discount each restaurant offers ? Did I miss anything

        • +5

Most restaurants should apply the same rule
With 1 membership, for 2 people or above, 1 will be free (min 25% discount )
          Eg. 2 people with1 free = 50% off bill
          3 people with 1 free = 33% off
          4 people or above = 25% off

          • be aware that usually drinks are not being discounted

(Note: kids are not included in headcount as long as they order kids meal, meaning 2 adults + 2 kids can get 50% off bill too)

There are a list of exception with either less discount or no discount
          They are listed here: https://www.accorplus.com/au/benefits-exceptions/

          • @littlesoldier: Minimum is 10% discount when you have a group of 10 or more

Cards do stack up to 50% though

            • @hyp3dup: Thanks for the clarification of group over 10
Havent tried with a large group so its good to know

          • @littlesoldier: I did a search and found this restaurant to be one of them:
            https://www.sofitelgoldcoast.com.au/restaurants-bars/bistro-…

Does that mean if I have breakfast for 2 here, it will be just $45 for 2 of us, since it will be 50% off?

            • @wildstone: Yes, you can call and confirm whether they accept Accor plus discount but quite confident it’s 50% off for 2

          • @littlesoldier: So Fables restaurant is included. You're saying if I go with my wife and two kids I'll get 50% off the buffet?

            • @R3XNebular: If kids are paying the kids price I believe so
Would still suggest to call and confirm (you don't need to be member to confirm the discount anyway)

              • @littlesoldier: I can't see any terms and conditions in relation to the children. Be great if we get in writing of some sort. Concerned that I'd be only eligible for 25% and that they count the kids… They'd be only eating kids meals as you mentioend… Will buy the membership anyway

                • @R3XNebular: I agree that their T&Cs has not mentioned about kids headcount on Accor plus discount

In one occasion, I visited a Accor restaurant but didn't ordered the kids meal (thought the kid can just eat the adults share)
                  and got counted the headcount

Then I asked the restaurant staff to understand this rule
After that, I visited 5 other Accor restaurants so far, none counted my kid when they ordered kids meal
Seems like this is internal guidelines within Accor restaurants but always good to confirm before making the booking if you are unsure

              • @littlesoldier: Might be an idea to buy the 188/HK additional membership. Would that mean my wife is considered a silver member too?

                • @R3XNebular: According to Accor page, it should also come with accor silver membership
                  https://accorplushelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-au/articles/36004108…

                  • +2

@littlesoldier: Excellent. $33 AUD for supplementary membership might help with this issue if it arises. I will order just the base membership. You can add a supplementary membership for $33 within 60 days of the original membership purchase. That way if two kids order adult meals it'll be a 4 head count with 2 members resulting in 50% discount…

Accor Plus Supplementary members enjoy the benefits of an Explorer membership, except there is no Stay Plus complimentary night and local dining vouchers if applicable within your country of residence. Supplementary cardholders enjoy:
Dining discounts of up to 50% off the dining bill in Asia Pacific and 15% off drinks in Asia

                    • @R3XNebular: A$33 for supplementary card is a steal
Australia Accor plus supplementary card cost $159 alone

                      • +1

@littlesoldier: Sold I'll buy both, the head ache of rocking up to a restaurant to find out that they won't honour it is not worth it. $33 for guaranteed 50% off is a good peace of mind…

  • Is it one free night per calendar year or one free night for the 1 year (from your date of joining)?

    • +1

once you renew you have a free night again
(note that the free night will not bring over to next membership year, if you dont use it you lose it)

  • Send to work, including using your Aussie address.

I'm wondering what the advantage of a sup card ($33) is?

    • +1

According to the website, it's effectively the same benefits, but without the free night of accommodation. So the 50% off food and other benefits.

  • When does the free night come through?

    • +1

Its immediately bookable - it comes up as an option in your account with the 12 month expiry date.

I signed up for the Malaysia one last week it was $366 but included 2 complimentary nights instead of the one on this deal.

    • Need someone else to confirm this is still the case, who's game?

      • +2

Still the case. 1090 MYR for Explorer Plus membership comes with 2 complimentary nights.

    • Did you need to enter a Malaysian address or phone number?

      • +1

I entered my Australian number and my Australian address!

        • +1

          Can you post for reference?

Did you sign up via VPN? Takes me back to AU site when I try without a VPN.

for those who dont know .. if you have Gold QFF you get Gold status with Accor as well.

    • This expired didn't it?

  • As a platinum Accor member would there be much incremental benefit getting this? I've had this before but just didn't seem overly useful… (aside from the free night which was difficult to eventually use)

    • +1

Access to Red Hot Room rates can be useful. I've made use of that, but they're a bit random

Dining discount can be handy in cities where there are plenty of Accor properties with decent restaurants like Jakarta or Bangkok. Sydney is probably the better city for Australia in terms of options. I go to Ternary at Darling Harbour regularly since they're quite casual, making it a great place to catch up with friends or just when I don't feel like cooking at home.

      • What's the food like… i've had my accorplus membership via amex platinum, and i've never used the 50% discount… as most doesn't look too good.

        • +1

I reckon they’re very good value. Food is similar to modern pub. The restaurant has three parts – grill kitchen, asian kitchen and wine bar. They have proper tandoor too so naan is a must order. Service is friendly although they can get busy at times and staff isn’t as experienced as before (they probably lost most of their FOH staff during lockdown). You also get to see the darling harbour fireworks when dining on Sat. It’s a pretty popular Accor Plus venue as you can see a lot of couples who are clearly locals (in a good way) or people dining in even numbers 😄.

    • Red hot room rates are generally pretty good but usually don’t include breakfast. With platinum you get breakfast so pair the two together and you can get a pretty affordable getaway.

  • Does anyone see value in having this for a trip to Europe? Single free night aside, are the 'red' deals an opportunity to save on accommodation throughout Europe?

    • Asia Pacific use only

      • Thanks mate

      • What about America? Accor has hotels over there

        • The Accor Plus membership only works in Asia/Pacific/NZ/Australia

  • So i put my shipping address as my home address but later received an email that its shipping to HK… Sent them an email but what are the chances i wont get the card?

    • You dont need the physical card. There is a virtual card on the app.

      • Oh awesome. Is it the Accor All app?

        • Yes, your Plus status will show in the app. In my case, it appeared the next day.

  • Would anyone be able to check if any rooms are available on certain dates?

  • StayPlus not redeemable at Sofitel's in Singapore? Bought through MY for 2x nights.

    • Really? Have you played around with lots of dates, especially mid week?

If so, that's saved me buying the membership, but hopefully you can find something.

    • Pls confirm dates, mid week etc… was about to buy for Sofitel Sentosa redemption … I see plus red hot deal for Sofitel DT is 50% off is 225/night

      • Can confirm I am struggling to find any Sofitel redemption.
I have tried random dates for each month, only opens up much later in the year.

      • Let me know what dates, I can check for you if you'd like.

        • Ideally 15/5 - 18/5

          • +1

@chickenchipsgravy: No Sofitel for those dates. Best is Fairmont or Swissotel.

            • @jayz: You’re a gentleman, thank you 🙏

              • @chickenchipsgravy: No problems at all.
I was hoping to snag Sofitel in SG as well, but no luck either lol.
Ah well, will have to save it for another trip.

        • Can you please help to check 11/3-14/3? Thanks

          • @Trio21: Assume you are asking about Singapore. 'Best' is Novotel or Grand Mercure.

            • @jayz: Thanks for checking

            • @jayz: HI Jayz, could you kindly check dates 21/4-24/4 and can you confirm this is with the Malaysian one? Thanks a lot in advance.

I've thought long and hard about this and have decided not to partake

    • Thanks for sharing :)

  • Anyone know if there’s anything free nights available in US between May 6 and June 6?
    LA , NY or Florida?

    Thanks

    • +1

doesn't work for US mate - Asia/Pacific only

  • +1

Thanks OP, purchased and booked the free night at the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour in September.

  • It looks like the free night is only valid for hotels in the Asia Pacific region. I was considering joining so I could get a night out of it on a Europe trip later in the year, but sadly, not gonna happen.

  • Any one know how long the activation email takes? I signed up very early this morning but have not gotten an email to activate and log in. I got the thank you and payment confirmation emails.

    • I was just about to write the same thing. I signed up via Malaysia (for the 2nd free night) and have confirmation email within minutes but a few hours later no activation email. Hoping it's just a delay in the automation and I don't have to pretend to contact them pretending to be from Malaysia……

      • party might be over, I suspect you'll be fine however I tried multiple times for the MY registration (without vpn) — I only have vpn in HK & SG — it keeps defaulting to AU/HK/SG whereas I could just update the url previous to see the MY offer.

    • Just to update - my email came through about 12 hours later
