It's a loss leader, they more than make up for it with everything else in the store being more expensive than colesworth. Still worth shopping there from time to time for the sheer variety of fresh food and deli produce they have.

Still do. I often go in on a weekday about mid week and there is a guy who plays rock tracks on it. Last time i went in he was playing Hysteria by Def Leppard.
mad expensive though tbh. Every time i shop there for a special occasion i always spend about 30% more than i would elsewhere. Some things are cheaper, some things other stores have.. but so many are significantly more expensive.
I find the bulk spices at Pasadena to be really well priced depending on what you buy.
