How to Save in Bunnings?

They don't support Cashrewards and Shopback.

I tried to buy Bunnings gift cards in Coles using Flybuys dollars but this didnt work. Looks like the only way is to buy Bunnings gift cards using Flybuys online and wait for a physical gift card shipped to you, which is annoying. This is not actually true saving but still…

Any other ways to save? Get discounted GC through AGL/RACQ etc?

If you've got an ABN you can get a powerpass card, that'll save you a little bit on things.

Note that some products an warranty will be a bit weird cause buying it with a powerpass card means they think you're using it for Trade use, and the long extended warranties don't apply (eg. Ozito/Ryobi). Dunno how that actually goes in practice though.

    • i've heard SOME stores are knocking back powerpass access if you're not in a valid trade (eg; hair dresser asking for powerpass access with their ABN)

      • depends who you go to. I openly told the guy mine was my Uber driver ABN that was used for a few months and inactive for at least 2 years by that point and he couldn't care less. Named my profession as courier.

You're in luck this is still valid

I live with the tiny savings from giftcards from Shopback Super Swap and Prezzee

It's generally cheaper to buy elsewhere when possible. I have a Powerpass but I can often get things from trade suppliers for half of what Bunnings charge.

    • that's true but sometimes it's available only from Bunnings and/or more convenient (e.g. need something at 8pm)

    1. Apply for job at Bunnings

    3. ????
    4. Profit
    • 1.1 get a mate working for Bunnings :)

    • What is the staff discount?

      • +1

You can purchase an item at cost price.

Google: [Bunnings] Staff discount card gets you cost price plus 10% (only to be used for your household, and they are quite strict about this). Very generous. I remembered even Coles only get you 5% discount.

          • @foxmulder: My mate (who used to work at Bunnings) didn't tell me about the 10% bit lol.

The Bunnings staff discount is pretty good. That mate built a granny flat in his parent's backyard, and his staff discount saved a heap of money!!

Best way to save in Bunnings is to not go into the joint. If you go in you MUST buy several tools you think you might need soon.

Bunnings is like Ikea for me… I walk in with nothing in mind and always walk out with something I don't need!

      • Ditto. They do have a clearance section though near the tool shop. Got some kango drill bits for cheap once.

  • Locate where they keep the discontinued/quick sale items. You can find bargains however its hit and miss and you need to regularly visit :)
