I read thermometer and I thought geez that's a very expensive way to take one's temperature. (And 400° is just bragging)
Not sure why they didn't call it IR camera instead

    • Yeh that threw me too as the basic IR thermometers that look like that are like $30 on Ali!

    • Unfortunately if it yellow it costs more. Agreed it is not cheap and they insist on calling it a thermometer.

      • I mean, isn't it what a multimeter should look like? That's a bit stupid, it's just a wheel with a screen on top of it

Is it too much for covid check?

I've always wanted one of these even though I have absolutely no use for it. Something very satisfying about thermal imaging though.

    • you probally want one for home applications

      • I don't own a home and finding the hot and cold spots in a rental sounds frustrating…

Check out Blackview and CAT mobile phones that have actual Flir cameras built in. I found a second-hand Blackview 6600 pro for $150 and IT works a treat. Even new they are a cheap way of getting a Flir cameras, with the bonus of a free rugged mobile and battery pack.

      • That's a great tip. If I could get one for $150 I would probably pull the trigger.

  • Normal price is $836

There is much better products available at that price. If you want a proper thermal camera at similar price, I would buy HIKVISION or HIKMICRO, https://www.instrumentchoice.com.au/hikmicro-e1l-handheld-th…

  • We normally use for your body temperature. Braun is do it's job which only cost about $50. $400 for an temperature thermometer is not a bargain for most of us. No matter how much its PPR is.
