Hi everyone! Blue Rams Horns are down in price! :)

These are small blue and red snails, great for any freshwater aquarium.
They are quite hardy, and although prefer an temperature range of 18-28 C can survive lower temperatures over winter.

Ram Horns can grow to over 2cm in size, but usually slow down their growth significantly at about 1cm in diameter.

FAQ:
People often inquire about snails exploding in population when introduced to a tank, but there is a bit of a misconception with this: Snails will propagate until they reach an equilibrium with the food available for them in the tank. If you add snails and their population explodes, it means there is tones of food (usually left over fish food) for them to eat, and they are eating it. In other words: Doing their job. Once the food is gone, their population will reduce to enough snails that can survive on how much food is left after your fish are done with it. If they still keep up a massive population, that usually means you are feeding your fish too much.

Postage:
Snails are very resilient to postage issues, so much so we can send them in letters ($3 postage) and 99% of the time there is no issue. We do replace or refund fully if there are any issues with your order as well anyway.

I think its called a battle royal

  • sorry but these are pests to an aquarium, once introduced they are hard to get rid off, even my assassins cannot rid my tank completely of them.

Some people just dont like them. They cause no issues other than the visual ones if you happen to not like them though.

  • Thanks OP, not looking for any snails but always happy to lend an upvote for good deals from small businesses that are in my niche areas of interest! Out of curiosity, what pH will cause problems for ramshorns? I have one in my crystal red tank and it shell is getting a bit pitted as though the water might be slightly too acidity for it.

    • Usually preffer above 7, but they should be ok with enough calcium in the water.

  • How many do you recommend buying? 2? 3?

Obviously they'll breed.. so yeah… Just trying to work out what's best… Especially in case one of them doesn't like the other…

Though having 3 might make things interesting in the tank lol might have to put some curtains up…

But serious question.. how many you reckon?

Depends on your tank size but usually at least 3 to 5 or more in a very large tank.
