Where do you find these offers?

      In your inbox.

I never once got an email about any promo from Latitude :(

        • Same - then again I infrequently use the card and never use the price guarantee thing or anything

          • +1

@Remorhaz: Really? If you have the price protection grandfathered in it'd be a waste not to use it.

            • @sickburn: I assume (and my wife) both do have it grandfathered - we've had the card for ages (> 10 years for me)

Thing is I only got the card for, and have only ever used the card when buying stuff in overseas currencies (either online or when overseas) (from back when it was basically the only credit card with no FX fees) - which means I'm basically never buying stuff locally with it (I typically use other points generating credit cards for that) - which means there aren't items I can claim that have been purchased on the 28˚ card (catch 22 I guess)

How do other people who have multiple credit/debit cards do it - if they are buying something which they think "might go down in price" then buy on 28˚?

              • +1

@Remorhaz: You had top opt-into the plan years ago to have it active.

I buy most of my tech stuff with the card.

e.g. buy something for RRP at JB Hi-Fi for ease of warranty/return, but claim cashback from Amazon, eBay (buy it now), or some weird, lesser known stores you stumble across on the internet.

                • @sickburn: Yes I just read about that - I don't know whether I opted in or not - probably not

                  But your strategy makes sense

              • @Remorhaz: what other cards have no FX fees nowadays?

                • +2

@fredblogs: Back in the day the Citibank Plus account coupled with the 28D card was the ultimate travel setup.

These days, best to check something like Finder:
                  https://www.finder.com.au/foreign-currency-international-fee…

                  • @sickburn: Yep have Citibank Plus as well

Credit Cards with No Overseas Transaction Fees include 28˚, BankWest Zero Platinum, Bendigo Bank Ready and even CommBank Ultimate Awards Credit Card (but has a monthly fee if you don't spend enough)

There's also a bunch of Debit Cards as well like ING Orange Everyday (Visa Debit), UBank (Visa Debit), HSBC Everyday Global Account (Visa Debit) (altho technically they use their own FX rates which may not be as good as Visa/MC)

                  • @sickburn: I still use this combo when travelling overseas 😃

              • +3

@Remorhaz: If you log on the old 28d portal and click insurance on the left menu you'll see something like

"Great news! Our records show that your Latitude 28 Degrees Global Platinum Mastercard already has Shopper's Protection insurance."

I bounce between 28d and Coles PP, depending if what I'm buying is store specific. 28d mostly for games and tech, Coles MC for Amazon stuff and phones

Merchandise protection is also pretty damn good. I've gotten 2 screens replaced so far and when my Duet 5 screen got smashed recently and the quote was higher than what I paid, they just gave me back what I paid in my account. Well worth the 1% that I sometimes forget to pay off

Spend $70 to get $10 back at CW isn't that great when my last offer was spend $70 to get $20 back

    • Can you purchase gift card?

  • Is menu log gonna go bankrupt.

    • Does it matter?

  • Does latitude card still offer purchase price protection? Thanks

    • Was withdrawn a few years ago to new members. It's still going for people who signed up to it before they removed it.

      • oh you had to sign up to price protection specifically? I got 28 degrees in 2011 but don't recall anything about that

        • Yes, it was an additional extra you had to apply for. If you didn't sign up, you never got it.

You can double up the Menulog $15 Cashback Latitude 28 Mastercard offer with a 50% off (capped at $15) new account first order offer.

I did that last night and turned a $55 meal into $20. $55 less 10% store discount less $15 first order less $15 CB. Free delivery for $30 minimum purchase was the icing on the cake too.

    • new account first order offer.

Is there a code for that.

Edit: Found it, they sms you a code to your mobile.

Darn… I received the email however it doesn't include the Chemist Warehouse discount, just the others.

They probably know I'd actually use that one

    However I did get

"Get $10 cashback when you spend $99 or more at Booktopia."… yay… :/

  • is menulog offer in one $30 transaction only? would be heck of deal if can add up in various transactions

    • One transaction only

Do you need to pay directly with the CC or can you still use it via Paypal?

    • +1

      direct

  • I temporary disabled the card few months ago and didn't receive promotional offer email since…lol

  • If the offer says spend by 22nd February, does that mean I can still use it on the 22nd to qualify or do I need to use it by the 21st? Been caught out by one of these before when they actually meant before the date

Spend $30 or more in a single transaction on your Latitude 28° Global Platinum Mastercard credit card by 22 Feb 2023 to qualify
