  • damn, I paid the $59 + del from JB last year

    • I didnt buy it yet. Was it any good?

      • +1

yeh they're good. Except when you walk with them in you can hear the thump of your own footsteps so youre better off using them on the train/plane etc.

        • +1

Had that issue with my pixel buds and I think I just got used to it eventually as I never notice it anymore.

    • +2

So you got one year of use for $10? Yep, ripped off for sure

      • +6

I mean last year could be 20 days ago

        • -3

It could also be 385 days ago, but who’s counting

          • +1

            @tharlow: I'm certainly not…

            • -2

@McFly: Sadly, not all of us are thinking 4th dimensionally.

When the moon is in the seventh house
              And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

              • +1

@tharlow: Your 385 day comment is correct and I liked it, but it's not 4th dimensional thinking lol

          • +1

            @tharlow: 1… no wait! …2 ozbargains counting.

      • +1

@tharlow Cheer up Mr Negative, nothing wrong with commenting about price history

  • 6 mm driver …. does not worth it

    • +2

I had a pair of 40mm over ears (compared to the more typical 50mm) and they were by far the best I've had. Unlike the cliche, size does not matter.

  • +1

    Scarbir?

Edit: no Scarbir. Generic reviews. Maybe useful but I'd think any TWS with ANC would be a better buy for a bit more.

  • How do these compare to Soundpeats T2's?

    • +1

Soundpeats are shit. Die after less than a year or have issues with paring

      • they're fine for the money.

      • +3

not my experience - still going strong after 2.5 years. Dropped one in the pool, still fine.

    • Soundpeats made my ears so uncomfortable. I had to put them aside after two weeks.

  • +5

I got these in the last sale. Just wanted something easy to take on the journey to work. Worth it for the price. I haven't tried any other comparable earphones though so it's difficult to compare. I'm happy with the purchase.

  • might be a good ear buds but the size looks massive though, how does it compare with samsung buds pro 2 in sizes?

  • Looks decent, shame jb hi fi only stocks these in grey, and only black is discounted

  • +1

Are these better than the Soundpeats Air3 / TrueAir2 that OzBargain voted 2022 Best Budget Earbuds Under $80?

    • -1

The hivemind is not the bee-all and end-all when it comes to things people like to stick in their ear canal. Plus, this is 2023, and last year’s rules go out the window

  • +2

I cannot recommend these. Bought last year, tried on once, cleaned them and lying around since. They are very uncomfortable in the ears, and I cannot believe that people run around with these more than 5 minutes at the time. I rather wear my Bose noice canceling headphones on my head.

  • I bought these and paired with my phone as per the instructions (pair the right and then the left to the phone but when playing through Spotify sound will only play through one ear, what am I doing wrong or send them back to Amazon?

    • +2

Yeah, took me a while to work out. You don't need to pair the left one. Only turn on the right one, pair it, and then turn on the left.

If the right is already paired, the left one searches and pairs with the right when first turned on.

If you turn them on together (which is what happens if you take them both out of the case simulataneously), they both go into pairing mode allowing you to connect each bud independently. I haven't found a good use case for pairing independently since the PC/Phone or whatever they're paired to only allows you to select one sound output device….as in, I can't route sound to two independently paired devices.

Pairing one and then allowing the other to sync with it is no problems.

Bought these for $60 last time there was a deal, to replace my $35 Soundpeats ones from another deal which died very quickly. The Yamaha ones are so-so. They stick far outside your ears, and before the silicone warms up in your ears, they don't have much grip and can very easily fall out. The sound quality is good enough for the price but I would recommend spending more and getting a better physical design. These feel kinda dated by now

  • +1

My go-to earphones, really comfortable, acceptable sound for music and podcasts, and physical buttons which I far prefer over touch controls. Can control the device with either earbud for when you want to just wear one. Bought a backup pair a month later. 👍

the comments on this page just go to show not everyones ears are the same and what fits one person well may not work for others.

  • Sorry for hijack, but been researching earbuds for months, wondering if anyone can give some advice as I am reaching a dead end everywhere else.

I had Pixel Buds 2nd Gen for a couple of years and loved them, only issue was them not charging in the case sometimes. Recently the little rubber 'wing' has snapped, so the right one will no longer stay in my ear. I upgraded to the new Pixel Buds pro, which were great, but they wouldn't fit in my ears properly as the smallest tips are actually bigger than the smallest on the 2nd gen (I believe because the casing underneith is larger) so I had to return them.

I'm thinking I might actually need something with 'wings' or they are going to pop out of my ears, the Pixel Buds 2nd gen thing where you twist them in and the rubber pushes against your ear really works well for me.

I've considered Pixel Buds A, but don't want to do it as it's a downgrade in functionality.

Seems all none of the flagship models going around these days have wings, why??? How do they stay in people's ears?

Can anyone recommend something with wings? I'd like wireless charging if possible, and to be able to easily listen with one ear in (I know this is a problem for some models, I think Bose can't do?). I think my ear canals are on the smaller side too, so need something that has a very small option for the tips.

    • Airpods pro 2nd gen seems universal favourite of all reviewers if you are locked in to Apple universe. I am using samsungs buds2 pro, no complaints , served me well for last 2 months but dont have any comparative earplugs. I have used airpods 2nd gen for over an year and buds2 pro is definitely a bit better.

You will never get a definite answer since its all based on your fit and preference. Sadly we no longer get to try these before we buy, so we end up trusting youtube reviews (which may be paid)

      • Tried my wife's and they didn't fit (although she might not have had the smallest tips on), they kept slowly popping out of my ears. Also I don't have an iPhone and even with third party apps the functionality didn't all seem to work properly.

Yeah not being able to try before I buy is my biggest issue, really worried I will get something and doesn't fit. I'm surprised how many lack the wings though, I guess most people don't need them for buds to stay in their ears…

        • if it has a silicone tip and wont stay in your ears, go up a size.

          • @Laserface: I'm quite confident it's too big, on my Pixel Buds 2nd Gen I had the issue, moved to the smallest size and the go in deeper and stay inside my ear.

  • Thanks. Good catch
