I was looking at these a year ago. But I lost interest because reviews said turning on the ANC barely had any affect.

To give users a better idea about the going price.
They were constantly between $60 to $80 Shipped and Sold by Amazon AU.
    Currently $64 for green. https://www.amazon.com.au/Razer-Cancellation-Wireless-Blueto…
They seem to have trouble selling because I have never seen them being sold for $169.

Yes, I did mention they are always discounted. Let’s remember these are under $60, of course the noise cancelling won’t be as good as the Airpod Max. But I looked at some reviews and for the price they seem pretty decent.

Yeah no problem I read that in your post. It's just that you mentioned the $169 retail price, then just said "discounted" so there was no reference to "going price".
So I just thought I should give some more perspective.
Some users might just see the $169 and think "Oh 70% off deal!!". So I just wanted to give some reference with the prices in my comment, so it's more like 10% to 15% off regular going price of $60 to $80 shipped from Amazon.

Also not sure how come our comments are so divided. Anyway yeah my point is I think your deal is worth posting.
Not trying to compare the ANC performance to $700 Airpod Max's.

Put a "beat" sticker and it be perfect.

I bought a pair a year ago for the kids, and am actually quite impressed at the ANC. I compared it to Bose 700's near kitchen exhaust fans, vacuum cleaners, in transport, and am quite impressed. Sure it didn't equal the performance, but it certainly was effective for a fraction of the cost. They far outdid the Sennheiser bottom of the range ANC that we had before (which basically did nothing). I do agree that they are a bit too tight (clamping against skull) though, and it hasn't loosened up. So if it fits you, then I would think it's a bargain at this price.

      • Definitely more than good enough for kids. Or even as a beater pair of ANC headphone's for a grown up.
But a few months ago when I did a tonne of research on the "best value for money ANC headphones" the majority of feedback mentioned the Anker Q30's being the best bang for buck when they are $99 shipped from Amazon, which they have dropped to more than a few times on Amazon AU.

The only negative point with the Q30's is the ANC does not work wired. Also worth mentioning early units suffered from a headband cracking issue, but that negative feedback has come and gone (and there is a cable tie fix, which I have posted in forums). Because of the ANC not working wired though, instead of the Q30's I have to recommend the Q35's which hurt the wallet a bit more at $129 shipped.
They have a couple of feature improvements on the Q30's such as LDAC, but most importantly the Q35's ANC works when wired (for in flight entertainment). Which I think is a must because on a flight is where you will get the most value out of the ANC.
The Q35's also have most of the same features as the XM4's such as companion App with custom EQ control, touch earcup to trigger ambient mode and as I mentioned LDAC support.

Which brings me back to the bad ANC on the Razer Opus X's. Back when I was interested in them I have heard from another user here on ozbargain about them as well, they mentioned the ANC does cancel out airconditioner noises effectively. But the weakness of the Opus X's is the low frequency cancellation is very weak, which is not what you want for bus rides/flights. Many opinions I read referred to this as the major disappointment.
Personally I don't fly often, but I am aware majority of customers shopping for ANC headphones will expect the good performance on a flight regardless of how often they plan to fly. I think this is where the ANC/value ratio kicks in. If you fly often for business of course you will want the best ANC available to take the edge off every flight. If you don't fly often, you still want decent performance on that occasional flight so your money goes further.

Don't get me wrong I think this deal is worthy of posting, $55/$53 shipped is the lowest historical price I have seen the Opus X's. But if you want maximum bang for buck without heading to Bose QC45, XM4 territory, I have to recommend saving a bit more for the Anker Q35's.

I love the Razer mouse I own but I absolutely hate Synapse with a passion.

I got these cheap (white pair) after losing my sony WH1000XM3 and honestly for the price pretty happy with them.

Im no audiophile but they do the job.

    • Great to know! Omg how did you loose the Sonys? That’s pretty sad

    • When I was looking I was going to go for white as well.

For those who don't know, Razer calls the white colour "Mercury".
