eBay Black Friday Promotion Scam

I'm I wrong on this…

I used this promotion to get a $25 voucher on eBay:- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/738997

I've tried the use the voucher & its not working… so I contact ebay via support and ask why, they tell me that as per clause 4 ("Eligible Items" means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and your unique Voucher code is found in the item listing) I cant use it to purchase an item. So I ask what an 'eligible item' is and they tell me its one where this code 'pops up' as a valid place to use it. So I ask for a list of items or sellers I can use it on, they cant provide that either.

This feels like a proper scam. No way of realistically using this voucher.

Am I wrong?

    I've used mine so definitely not a scam.

    Minimum spend is $150 if I recall.

      Note the condition to use the voucher:

      The Voucher entitles you to $20 (or $25 for eBay Plus members) off the pre-coupon purchase price (excluding postage costs) when you spend $150 or more on Eligible Items during the Validity Period. You may purchase up to 10 items per transaction.

    I noticed the code only worked on some items.
    It applied to some private sellers and not others.
    It shows the code on the listing when eligible so you need to click into lots of different items to see if it will work.

      Sometimes eBay codes don't show up on the listing (like it doesn't show any code, not just the wrong code) but it works in checkout anyway

      So my process is to test checkout the listing on coupons I want to target

    Shows on the listing for this random item I just checked.
