    Kogan Items are low quality.

but glorious pictures, amazing description, and low price (which is still way too expensive when you receive the item)

thats why some people are still buying them, but then they will regret… most people i know, they buy once and swear never buy again (kogan branded)

      • a new level of smoooove

power through deadlines and browse the web with ease.

    • not always, bought this ceiling fan a couple months ago and am really happy with it. obviously a lot of the time they're going to basically re-brand the cheapest possible thing they can get their hands on but its not always bad.

      • Bought a Kogan Premium DC Motor Pedestal Fan for about $50 and two Kogan Full RGB Mechanical Keyboard for about $40 each for three years already, they are all still working. But I bought a Solar Powered Motion Sensor LED Flood Light (60 LED, 600 Lumens), it only lasted two months.

  • Has a VGA port?

    • Yes, under the specs:
      DVI - 1
      DisplayPort - 1 x 1.2
      HDMI - 1 x 1.4
      VGA - 1

But why would you use VGA on this kind of monitor? Better to use HDMI at the very least or DP for the best quality picture.

      • +1

that was the point of my question. Why would they even have VGA port. :P

        • My school uses really old PCs and we still have square monitors. If we're updating computer parts bit by bit (Yay disadvantaged areas) this monitor actually helps because it has the right ports.

    also

    is it PWM flicker-free?

    • Maybe I should not post monitor deals in the future. LOL

      • Well not the bad ones anyway. Note for future reference, good monitor deals (which means both the monitor is good AND the price is good) - Yes.

  • Anyone know if these overclock like the Korean IPS b-grade panel grey market models some years back?

Under the FreeSync section in the manual it states: The feature is disabled by default when set to a 75Hz refresh rate

I wonder if it can be enabled at 75Hz though.

    • +3

Maybe because the 75hz setting is the "overclock" refresh rate and the panel is natively 60hz.

  • I wonder who makes the screen panel. Because apparently the monitor is Freesync certified. That's the really important part what is the screen panel maker. If it's a low quality screen panel then it will be rubbish.

But also is Freesync still important with such a low refresh rate?. 75hz isn't exactly a high refresh rate.

  • 7ms response time… in max overdrive?

I wonder how bad the overshoot and trailing would be there.

    • That must be a mistake. It can't be that slow. That's worse response time than any standard monitor that i know of. You'll get screen tearing. I don't think that it's any high brand screen panel in it then as it definitely wouldn't be rubbish like 7ms response time. The screen panel might be sort of rubbish a little bit.

It would want to be 1ms for better results. My MSI 27" gaming monitor has a 1ms response time.

      • Response time 7ms with Overdrive enabled (14ms
        typical)

That's what the manual claims. I would have been using it as a secondary screen anyway, since it's only a 60hz panel.

        • I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole if it's for the primary monitor. That's in my opionion. You'll be in for some serious screen tearing if you try to play gaming on it. So it's definitely not for gaming if one is into it. It has to be having some noname screen panel in it because no high brand manufacturer would make a 14ms screen panel.

          • @hollykryten: that's interesting I'm using one now with a RX 6600 video card 5600x processor and running sniper elite 5 at 2560 x1440 set to Ultra, no tearing, no lag. Upped to frequency to 75, enabled free sync thing works a charm, colours are good certainly an improvement over my dell S2721HGF, can't really tell any real diff between the dell at 144 vs this at 75

      • My MSI 27" gaming monitor has a 1ms response time.

Unless it's oled or crt, it doesn't. Not even 390hz monitors can reach 1ms. Monitor makers almost always lie/manipulate their response times, funnily enough kogan's 7/14ms claim here is actually the most realistic one despite coming from a shoddy company.

A 75hz monitor would have an expected response time of roughly 1000/75=13.3ms. It can get lower but it'll rely on a ton of overdrive which'll just introduce a lot of ghosting.

With freesync/gsync on you also won't get any tearing provided you stay at/under 75hz.

  • I'm using this as a secondary monitor above my Xiaomi 34 ultrawide and it is fine.

Sure the viewing angles are limited, but for me to play music on youtube and keep some random screens up there for me to glance at from time to time, this monitor is great. Its also quite thin and lightweight and the frameless bit is definitely a nice touch.

  • Does this have a power bric or is it direct mains.
I am after a monitor for a caravan preferably 12v dc input.

    • Direct power cable, you can see the diagram in the user manual.
