Are you using NextDNS or some other fancy adblocker? Seems they don't work well with AliExpress.

      • Working fine from mobile device

  • Thanks for sharing op!

  • These lamps are great when you don't have adequate room lighting for studying/work (generally speaking, not these lamps in particular).

If you have two on a dual monitor setup, you almost don't need room lighting in a small room.

    • With interior lighting, I find that having more quantity of light sources (with less brightness) is better than having 1 or 2 extra bright light.

  • Back up to 20USD now or am I missing something

    • Yep seems to be expired now.

  • I need a deal on the Xiaomi version. Any chance you could organise one @Clear?

  • It is still available for me for $11.91 USD ($17.88AUD)

What is the point of this product… are they suggesting to use it while watching the TV!? Lighting for digital monitors comes from BEHIND the screen. Shining light vertically down a screen externally isn't going to make it any brighter. If anything this would only lighten the "black blacks" and it the "blue light" the title mentions actually exists, it will only make the whites look weird. The only way you brighten the displayed image of a DTV is by increasing the number of LEDs behind the screen, or swapping them for ones with greater intensity. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlFVPnGEb8o

"Eye protection" my a—e, lol! This is a gimmick at best, or at worst will make the screen flare/glare causing unexplained eyestrain/headaches for some, and increase the electricity bill for everyone else.

The only thing I can see this being good for is over your piano sheet music or fishtank, or to light ornaments on a shelf below it.

It's meant to illuminate your desk, not brighten the screen itself.

Hm ok, the listing seems to indicate otherwise though… that it's meant to be on while the monitor is on, which will have the negative effects I mentioned. It really should be positioned forward of and above (off the monitor at least several cm - above the head would be better) - not sitting right on a monitor. I was just looking at how it mounts in case I could use it at my piano. That blocky mount is going to obscure part of many monitors. Oh well.

Side note: It's obviously not appropriate for vegans. (One of the reviews says, "I had to disassemble the lamb.")

        • You're not supposed to point the light at your monitor. It's pointed at the desk Infront and has no impact on the monitor itself.

@Clear: Yep, that's what I assumed… sitting on the top of the monitor, pointing downwards. If it works ok well and good. But I wouldn't buy this for the purpose they show because it will cause the things I've said for at least some people. Instead I'd adjust the position of my desk so the room ceiling light isn't behind me casting shadows on the desk, get a lamp, or raise something this higher - off the monitor by attaching it to a shelf of a "hutch", bookshelf, etc - so the light is above one's head.

    • You're missing the point of a monitor light bar, it's not to increase the brightness of the monitor itself, but to provide ambient lighting onto your desk/keyboard. I think we can disregard the advertising gibberish for monitor light bars. or anything from AE really.
