I'm trying to find the best trade in value for my phone. Been looking around and the best I can get for it is maybe $570 for what I bought it as (1.1k?) it hurts seeing it go so low

sadly android phones depreciate more than iphones even though its a high spec phone.

It can depend a lot depending on the brand & model of the android. Android usually wins in most cases when you look at bargain price.
New S22 plus are about $1000-1200 (ozbargain deal price)
Used S22 plus are about $800-1000 (eBay sold listing)
So with S22 Plus, you lose about $200-200 (Lower price, higher price) in value which is 16.7-20% loss. If you buy low and sell high you lose $0 or 0%.New iPhone 13 Pro goes for about $1500-1600 (ozbargain deal price)
Used iPhone 13 Pro goes for about $1000-1300 (eBay sold listing)
So with iPhone 13 Pro, you lose about $500-300 in value which is 33.3-18.8% loss. If you buy low and sell high you lose $200 or 13.3%.

Wait for Samsung to do a $500 trade in bonus when the S23 launches and you'll get the trade value + $500 for it.

like trade in value is 520 (Currently) + 500 off the s23 almost making it free? haha
You would get close to 50 percent off the original RRP, not free. But doing a samsung Trade-up is one of the best ways of offloading your old Galaxy apart from selling it on eBay.
However, you will have the pain of dealing with one of the most disorganized and incompetent companies..
That's basically it, yes. Although the trade in value will probably drop a bit when the S23 launches.
Only way to get best price is to sell it privately.
