The Leatherman Squirt PS4 appears to be discontinued (edit: confirmed with Leatherman Australia). This isn't the lowest price but it's one of the lowest prices that I could find where there's still stock.

    Leatherman Squirt PS4

    I felt a twitch

  • +3

These are great. Discontinued now, so assume this is a stock run out. Grab while you can

    • Why would they discontinue it?

      • +35

        They released the PS5

      • +1

Not sure why but the CEOs recent video about making the Wave Plus, retooling the factory, focusing on locking tools etc makes me think the PS4 is due for an upgrade.

        • +3

Every tool on my more moderrn leatherman locks. It's one of those things that you don't know you love until you have it.

      • +1

I asked Leatherman Australia last night and they confirmed today that the PS4 is discontinued and that any stock out there is likely to be the last.

      • LeatherMAN squirt. Need another reason?

Wingman also not bad price at anaconda for $99 (club) https://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/equipment/kniv…

    • +1

I wonder what the Dune is like - $49.99 club price (was $99.99).

      • +2

My guess is with any no name multi tool… junk.

        • +7

          Yeah but it's 4WD.

          • @WatchNerd: I was looking if it's ever been posted on here but all I could find was some comments in this post, members @kirt, @lachlan1, @baller may have bought one. Would love to here some reviews please?

            • +1

@WatchNerd: As mentioned in my post, I bought it to keep in the car glove box, and haven't had to use it yet.

However, from just playing around with it, it's a solid piece of kit. I love how you can access the serrated blade, straight-edge blade, file, and saw from the outside of the tool, without having to unfold it.

The locking mechanisms are sturdy, and the tool itself and the case both have belt clips.

Let me know if you want to know anything in particular ;)

        • +4

Apparently I hear its popular among the fremen

    • +2

Wingman owner here. The wingman is great. Pretty basic, but it does the basic things well.

  • +1

Just FYI it’s very small. Probably best to check out some comparison videos for a good idea of size.

    • I saw this comparison video of the Leatherman PS4 and Victorinox Compact and thought: Why not both?

      • +2

I meant compared to most other pliers-based multitools. I still think it’s quite an engineering feat but was definitely surprised when I saw it next to full-size tools like Wingman or Wave.

    • it’s very small

Speak for yourself mate. It does the job perfectly adequately for me;)

    Link shows $86.13

    No longer $65.14

    • Ah, do you have Prime?

The $65.14 seller option from Amazon Germany might only be available to Prime customers.

I can add it to my cart as $65.14 from Amazon Germany while logged in, but I can only see the $86.13 option from Amazon UK when logged out.

    • +3

Was also showing out of stock for me while logged in. When I did a search it showed the $65.14 price from 'other sellers' but wouldn't show any results when clicking the link

I ended up opening the link in a private window and the sale price showed. I was able to add to cart and THEN log in, and complete the transaction.

      Weird one!

      • I might just let it get marked as expired.

It's still possible to order it for $65.14 from Amazon Germany via Amazon Australia but it has been marked as expired about four times in the past hour.

    Shows 65.14 for me

    Last deal $48.99

I love my Leatherman Squirt PS4 and it's built really well but bang for buck, I'd normally recommend the Gerber Dime, at $30-$40 you get the same functionality with slightly worse build quality.

    • i have one too, bought mainly for the nifty-looking package opener. but the trade-off in build quality is annoyingly obvious for me; i just couldn't tolerate it and it's sitting around somewhere gathering dust. maybe whoever made mine was having a bad day but i prefer the fit and finish of the leathermans (and swiss army knives although leatherman tools are easier to access for me)

      • I took mine apart, oiled it and sharpened the knife, scissors and package opener and it's done the job fine. My main issue is the pliers, any decent amount of force and torque and they seem to snap and break but having said that I did have a PS4 that did the same to me as well doing a similar job but steel used on the Dime is definitely worse than the PS4.

        • good to hear you managed to save it. but for the $39 i paid for the dime, i'd expect it to work straight out of the box without me having to modify or fix it

    • +2

I bought my partner a PS4 but couldn't justify a PS4 for myself at the time since I had the Charge TTi. I liked some of the features on the Dime so I bought that for myself. I've never hated any multitool more. The scissors sucked, the bladed tools didn't work well, and the overall quality was abysmal. I gave it away and later bought myself the PS4.

The scissors on the PS4 are a little mediocre compared to that on a Victorinox SAK Classic, and the single bevel in the knife is a little odd, but it's otherwise a fantastic little pliers-based tool

      • +1

Scissors are so bad lol, even after sharpening they aren't great but they're not something I used regularly so wasn't much of an issue. The knife and package opener I sharpen myself (any multitool I purchase I usually service myself before using) and after oiling it the thing does fine for me as an EDC. I do swap my EDC around all the time though depending on mood or outfit I'm wearing.

EDIT: I found much better success using the scissors with my left hand and using my index finger to action them.

  • Only seller option is Amazon UK $86.32.
    Amazon Germany sold out?

    • +2

Showed up as 65.14 after a while with 4 to 6 week despatch delay.

Edit - weird. On iPad it shows 65 via Amazon Germany. Android phone only shows 88 via Amazon UK

      • Got one! Desktop using Edge browser, didn't work for Chrome.

  • +1

I really liked the P4 which comes with an awl. I quickly bought a few extra P4s when the PS4 replaced it. I wonder what will replace the PS4.

  • I’ve been waiting for 5 weeks for mine and still hasn’t been sent I suspect it never will.

  • From Amazon? I was thinking the same. If it is discontinued….unlikely to be any new stock

  • +2

    Appreciated, OP.

  • +2

Thanks OP. It's been a while since I've been 'Oz Bargained' and bought something that I didn't need, but I've just grabbed one of these. I told myself that I hadn't got enough value out of my Prime account so I'd be stupid not to buy one.

  • +1

Mother in-law gave one of these a while back, keep it in my tool belt while building, thing will if you're not careful hurt you!

    • +1

A lot of people have that problem with their in-laws!
