How does this compare to coles and woolies croissants

    • +8

Much bigger and better and the much more buttery than the ones from Coles and Woolies.

      • the ones at coles are $10 900gr.

    • this is $1 cheaper than Coles' RRP
      Debatable in variance
personally Costco - being a member only shop really should be cheaper than this

    • I prefer the Coles ones, much better than the ones from WW.

    • The bakery goods at Costco are questionable at best… Tried most of their range, and the only one I'd go back to repurchase is the Brioche.

    • You can return food items at costco for a refund even if you simply don't like the taste.

Just buy a pack, eat one outside and walk back in for refund if you don't like it.

Although opinions of others is helpful, your own opinion is what really matters.

Far better than Coles or Woolies (quality, quantity and price)

    • And size, where it matters ;)

Not as good as it was 😂
Before Costco reduced its Croissant size, it was much more attempting even without promotion.

I agreed. Many years ago, the Costco croissants were fantastic, it was buttery and flakey and the taste was amazing. Not anymore, their croissants now are so bland, you can't even taste or smell the butter.

@Ronan2001: Ok compare Costco croissants to the standard croissants of coles and Woolies and which is better?

For me hands down Costco is way better, fresher, bigger, yummy

    • Really price is better when half price? As that is the only time i get them

    • that is not true. The Coles pack has 12 too 900gr

  • Same price in Moorabbin yesterday ;)

  • Can you go in a have a look if you are on the fence about getting a subscription? or do you have to go as a guest with a member?

    • You can just cancel if you don't want to keep membership

You can get a one day pass to try out at the reception (near the way out) I think. But yes generally you'd need someone with a card to go in and to scan the card at check out. I actually lended my card to my friend before because we kinda looked similar with glasses and he was able to go in with his gf and bought stuffs with cash. So yeah lots of way to try out Costco.

You can have a member buy you a shopcard and then you can go at your own leisure https://www.costco.com.au/costco-shop-card-TC

    • Only $60 a year I’m sure it won’t break the bank to get a Costco membership. I’m sure people have saved $$ from wfh.

For me it’s definitely worth it, a lot of bargains when bought at wholesale, fuel is way cheaper than anyone else so it all works out better in the long run

    RIP NY Resolutions

  • Can these be Frozen and reheated and still have a decent taste?

Thanks OP. I buy these regularly, so a $3 saving is handy :)

Check the expiration date before you buy this. Costco Moorabbin sold the same package of croissant at $6.99 on NYE, but the best before date was 03/01/2023.

    • +4

It’s because these are made fresh.

Tastes dry and $h11t to me.
    Will never order again.

    • What you comparing Costco croissants to then??

      • +2

        $hit, apparently

I have found that supermarket croissants (apart from Coles frozen cook your own) are more like sweet bread and not the flakey light pastries they used to be. I just bought 4 large ones from the local Vietnamese bakery for 7 and I freeze them, cut them in half (so more like 8) when I go to use one and put in the convection setting on the microwave for 4 minutes to crisp up again….with butter/marg and honey, can't be beat.

    Confirmed 8.99 Ringwood VIC 5.30 6/1

  • I feel like they changed the recipe even just a few months ago. I was heating them in an oven before using indirect heat (heating then switching off the oven) and they would get crisp but the two most recent boxes I bought would remain soggy/tough to chew no matter how long I left it in the oven

  • This us at both WA locations

  • What's the attraction with French butter? We have great butter here in Australia!

    • Price, you can get cheap French butter, which to some has more appeal than some domestic butter.

It's true Australians can produce some really good butter, Pepe Saya is an example of this.

      • thank you

  • If I'm not a member, but have a $25 gift card. Can I buy $120 worth of groceries?

    • I believe so but report back and let us know, maybe also get anither gift card if you can with it

      • If I had a $25 gift card, I would let you know.

I assume only members can buy gift cards, otherwise that would be a loophole.

        • oh thought you said you had a $25 Gift card.
I heard you could buy a gift card with a gift card
