Not sure if this is available in Australia yet. Cost is around A$200. Available on 2022 or newer Samsung TVs.

being software
means that phillips can just randomly ask people for payment for an updated version in future. and stop support for older software.
Totally agree with @djc
Also..
"The Philips Hue Sync TV app can be used on one TV and can’t be transferred to another TV"…. 🥶 Even if it was reasonable (i.e. $20) I feel like a hell of a lot more people would buy it.In saying that, if you're in the market for a $300+ light strip, you're probably happy to only need to pay $200 instead of the $400 or whatever the HDMI sync box is.
I wonder what the latency is like between the 2and can’t be transferred to another TV
That's bullocks!
Looking forward to it coming to other devices and Turkey 😬
Is there a trial period to test out the Philips Hue Sync TV app?
Yes. You're able to request a refund for the Philips Hue Sync TV app for up to 14 days after purchase.Able to request, (As if We cannot request after 14 days for refund ?) LoL, seems to me, not entitled to refund within 14 days,
Does the Philips Hue Sync TV app support both 60Hz and 120Hz TVs?
Yes. The Philips Hue Sync TV app works on compatible 60 Hz and 120 Hz Samsung TVs using all video formats. So it wont support 30 Hz or 90 Hz or weird TV's from Samsung
This is simultaneously the worst and best deal ever. 200 AUD is wild just for a non transferable license for a single tv (e.g. if you had two 2022 Samsung TVs are you really expected to pay twice?). The PC app is free. I'd be much happier with an Apple TV or Android TV app that did this and was transferable. I think 20-50 AUD would be reasonable.
Similar function has been on the wishlist forever with Infuse Pro on Apple TV and it kinda works with MrMC on Android TV. https://community.firecore.com/t/philips-hue-support/14960/2…
Disclaimer - I do have a play box on my old LG C1 and an unholy number of hue devices, and a '22 Samsung TV. I may end up buying this anyway after too many beers.
$200! … being software, I would expect it to be free so people buy the hardware.
It's cheaper than the Play HDMI Sync Box but it's a Samsung App (enough said).
