IKEA $10 Quarterly Reward ending

Our $10 Quarterly Reward benefit is ending on 31 March 2023
You're receiving this service email as a valued member of IKEA Family.

We've listened to your feedback and are making some exciting changes to IKEA Family benefits and rewards. However, this means that the current $10 Quarterly Reward benefit will end soon.
How will this impact you?
Quarter 1, 2023 will be the last quarter that IKEA Family members who spend $100 from January to March 2023 can earn a $10 Quarterly Reward. If you qualify for this reward, it will be delivered to you via email in April 2023 – the redemption period will be stated on that email.

From April 2023 onwards, you will not be able to earn a new $10 Quarterly Reward.

But don't worry, we’re hard at work creating a new and improved reward system for IKEA Family members to enjoy. And we can't wait to share more with you when it's ready.

Keep an eye on what's coming next! We'll be sure to let members know first via an IKEA Family email.

Looks like they finally caught on

Let me take a wild guess at this exciting thing you are working on IKEA. It's a points system.

      It's a points system.

Probably partner with one of the existing rewards program like EDR that needs the connection to home improvement aspect after flybuys incorporated Bunnings.

When I shop at IKEA, I always go through the self check out for a few rounds (make sure not the same staff of course),
paying $50 of items a time and use the $10 Reward + 10% off gift cards

    i.e. If I am purchasing $200 of items, I pay $50 for 4 rounds, use $10x4 Rewards, + 10% off gift cards
The actual amount I am paying is around $144.

Now they end the reward system, and given they jacked the price up much more than inflation,
It's not worth shopping there anymore.
Will go back to Kmart/ bunnings instead.

Yeah i'd have to say, lots of products are just way better value at Kmart

    • How do you divide your shopping $50 from $200 each if you buy a dining table for example?

      • +2

        you can't.
their bulky furniture are overpriced anyway.
I only by linen/ small / heavily discounted items from IKEA.

        • I wish I knew this

I find the quality of cheap items better at IKEA than Kmart. I'm not sure if it's worth the price hike, but just something I've noticed. E.g. Mason jars - Ikea uses SS, whereas Kmart uses aluminium and obviously Al doesn't go well in the dishwasher…

    • half the time the code doesn't scan or workv and if an assistant gets involved you may not get anything off.
Lot of effort when the stuff isn't that cheap or good anyway.

Pretty shit of them. I reckon there's a lot more people spending $100 plus and not claiming the following quarter.

  • Ever since they brought in the $50 minimum spend to claim the free $10 this offer stopped keeping my interest. Will be interesting to see what comes next. I have a feeling it will be a points system, like others have suggested, perhaps similar to the way MyMacca’s is run. I would probably prefer if they integrated with an existing rewards scheme like EDR or Velocity

Oddly I remember learning this and made a purchase online for delivery of a chair soon after. I forgot to add a neck cushion which was only $10 or something, and so I made another order used the same code and got another $10 off. It basically made the cushion free, but had to pay for delivery which I think was $10. So same price as if I went into the store.
But yeah it worked on a $10 online purchase with delivery. It was very early on after they introduced minimum spend so maybe a system error.

(I don't live close to IKEA)

When you said they caught on, what was the method to make it even better?
