Hi all
Just wondering what steps people take to deidentify parcel boxes before putting them in for recycling.
I usually peel or cut out labels and dispose of them separately in the red / landfill bin. Is there an easier way?

My mobile is usually on the parcel labels for one. A tracking number could be used to find out where the item came from.
Just testing the waters to see what people do.
Then what do they do with that info?
who knows what they might come up with
at the very least having address and mobile could be handy for a crim
we peel and place in combustion heater
.
All stores that I use have fake mobile number in shipping address.
I remove the labels then cut them up and then throw away into at least two different bins.
Wow, I thought I was the only one
🥲
We can form a club.
Awesome! But any joining forms we need to fill in must be shredded and put into multiple bins.
Amateur.
I remove the labels then cut them up and then burn them in at least two different fires…
Lame. I burn all boxes in two different fire pits.
And then eat the ashes for breakfast?
I just take them off completely so I can reuse the boxes.
I peel them off or cut the label out and burn it.
I reuse Amazon shipping boxes. I use a cheap Ozito heat gun to peel them off easily. You can also use the heat gun to blacken thermal shipping labels and make them unreadable. Only takes about 10 seconds a label.
Didn't think of using a heat gun. Will try that.
My ozito battery powered heat gun gave little success. Sticking with peeling / cutting off labels.
Remove addresses before recycling. Why add to the already excessive amounts of my data that’s out there.
I have no real problem with the rubbish bin, as reasonably confident the council drivers wouldn’t go anywhere near it before it goes in a hole in the ground. Recycling gets processed so there’s a chance of someone collecting addresses.
I use Suncorp that runs on Amazon web server.
So no need to ask for Jeff's junk mail, he already knows what I spend my money on……
Why bother?
