Chromecast without google tv can control via iPhone app?

Thinking to purchase one , if phone app can use as a remote then I may don't get the Chromecast with google tv . Any advise ?

Yeah, any app that is Chromecast capable will be able to be cast and controlled by an iPhone.

yes via google tv app and also the google home app on iOS however the problem in my experience is that the Android app is better at detecting devices on the local network as my iPhone wasn't detecting my android tv while the Galaxy was.

Youtube
Prime

Worked well.

I have an ageing Sony smart TV with limited apps, chromecast ultra and an iphone. I use the phone or my ipad with the chromecast to stream Amazon Prime, Kayo, Disney plus iView. Have used in the past for Britbox and Binge.
