Recommendation for Retailer with The Best Customer Service

I am considering buying a 65" Samsung S95B, which supposedly has some QC issues and could come bent out of the box.
Who should I buy from that will just come collect it and replace it with the least amount of hassle should something like that happen?

I'm new to Aus so don't know any of the retailers, but people online seem very negative about Harvey Norman for some reason?

  • come collect it and replace it

    Your closest store.

    • So any retailer in Aus will just come and collect the bent TV and give me a replacement or full refund with no collection fee and no restocking fee, no questions asked? And within a reasonable timeframe?

        Quite a wishlist…🦄

Closest store is for your convenience when you have to organise the return.

For good reason. Look up Gerry Harvey and GST for overseas shipments.

That scum doesn’t deserve to be supported.

Maybe don’t buy something that is known to have quality issues?

Everything has some risk of arriving DoA, this one just happens to be higher in one of those.
I would rather buy something that has higher risk of arriving broken than something that has a higher risk of breaking down the line.

I'd say that something is seriously wrong with your logic.

How does having a bent tv out of the box stop you from having issues with any of the thousands of other electrical components in the TV later?

      • Both are bad. Why not buy something else more hassle free and reliable?

"I'm going to buy something that is rubbish, please help me"
    Don't buy it

I don't think any retailer is going to come and collect the TV and give you a new one/refund on the same day

    • +2

Definitely not going to be same day, in this day and age if it’s done within 2 weeks it would be a miracle.

  • Every retailer employs a number of customer service reps who would handle the warranty call. Ultimately it comes down to the person you are dealing with. I have interacted with Harvey Norman for warranty issue and never had any issues. But many other seems to have run into issues.

Regarding HN and warranty it really comes down to the franchise imo.

      • Not sure if it's the Christmas break but dealing with Harvey Norman for online purchases is impossible.
I've got better chances with the Nigerians trying to get my $10K deposit back from the $25 million they said I inherited.

Don't know if they sell the tv you want, I will definitely buy it from Costco. If you do not like it in first 90 day, bring it back and they will refund you.

Ask the retailer what the cost is for the delivery and setup service and how long this will take in order to see what the minimum time it will take to get them to come and pickup the TV. Saying that expect that you will need to deal with getting the retailer to believe you that it was like this in the box and….

Better to get the retailer to include on the invoice that they will replace the TV within 7 days if the TV is bent when installed using their installer. This way you can say to the installer it's bent and take it back. Most sales people will say it's okay we will replace it if it occurs, but get it in writing and how long it will take to replace. Do not trust the sales person to back you up after the sale, unless it's on the invoice.

JB Hifi offer free collection and replacement for faulty goods. They also appear to have the lowest price for this tv at the moment and likely have a location close to you.
