Late to the party, i have used gift cards multiple times instore at EB Games to purchase PSN credit with no issue. Can normally get between 10-15% off. I have only done it online with JBHIFI with no issue.
Nope, it’s unusual for PSN credit to be discounted.
My only suggestion is to use a discounted gift card (e.g. Ultimate gift card, TCN gift card, JB Hi-Fi gift card, EB Games gift card) to purchase PSN credit at a participating retailer.
The only issue is that there isn’t really any deals on discounted Ultimate or TCN gift cards at the moment (and I mention that, because those are most likely to be discounted by 10% when compared with JB Hi-Fi or EB Games gift cards). There is the current TCN GIFT gift card deal at Woolworths, but that is not an upfront discount deal, plus stock of those particularly gift cards is usually quite low (assuming it exists), because it also includes eBay.
Don’t forget that some gift card portals sell JB Hi-Fi gift cards, EB Games gift cards and Ultimate gift cards at a discount everyday. Refer to the discounted gift card wiki if you haven’t already.
The bigger problem is that if you go to a physical JB Hi-Fi store, you may have a staff member serving you at the checkout who believes you cannot use a gift card to purchase a gift card and will therefore not let you use any gift cards to pay for PSN credit. Considering PSN credit is sold on the JB Hi-Fi website, it would be easier to use an Ultimate (Visa) gift card or JB Hi-Fi gift card to purchase it online at JB Hi-Fi.
