[SUBS] Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (IMAX Enhanced) to be added on February 1st @ Disney+

2234

UPDATE: A previous version of this article listed January 20th as the Disney Plus release date. We acquired this information through Disney Plus Support, which gave us that original date.

However, that information is incorrect. We apologize for the incorrect date and have corrected it below.

Starting the year the best way possible! We recently contacted the Disney+ team and we got a First Report on the official release date for the new sequel from Marvel Studios, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The Hollywood Handle can confirm that the movie hits Disney+ on Wednesday, February 1st.

As pointed out by glorydaybulls, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is one of a select few Disney+ titles that are IMAX Enhanced. It was announced at CES 2023 that Disney+ subscribers will get to enjoy IMAX DTS signature sound on IMAX Enhanced titles with DTS-compatible TVs and AV receivers later in the year, making Disney+ the first major streaming service to support DTS audio. NOTE: it is unclear whether Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will have IMAX DTS audio enabled on Feb 1st.

        • Disney movies go to Disney+, other movies go to what streaming service?
        • There is a bigger time difference between Disney and other services. Lightyear was released to cinema 16/06/22, while at Disney+ 03/08/22, 6 weeks 6 later. Strange Worlds cinema released 24/11/22, Disney+ released 23/12/22, 4 weeks and 1 day later. Dune was released to cinema 10/11/21, then it arrived on Netflix 02/09/22, 42 weeks and 2 days later.
        • Other movies go to Netflix/Amazon/HBO/Paramount +/Stan
You did not define the timeframe for ''in no time at all'. Also Dune was released on HBO Max on Oct 21 2021, so it was released on streaming services before it even hit Australian cinemas

          • @illusion99: Didn't have to, but you didn't fix it, as there was still incomplete information in your post, you should have been clearer if you were trying to be smart by claiming it is fixed. I think 42 weeks vs 4 weeks is a big difference in the time frame of a movie being released to a streaming service from the cinema, that is why I stated "in no time at all", I didn't think I needed to be so specific as to indicate that 42 weeks vs 4 weeks is a big difference.

            • @FabMan: So you picked one example where you got your dates incorrect to back up your argument

              • @illusion99: Dates incorrect eh? Care to back that up with 'fixed' Australian dates, not US dates illusion99?

You also missed in your fixed post that many movies end up on Amazon Prime for a long time for you to rent to stream, not part of a streaming service for an even longer time.

                • @FabMan: Streaming is available worldwide with a VPN - doesn't matter what country you are in

                  • @illusion99: Can also pirate movies too, got to include those dates. But where are my dates wrong?

                    • @FabMan: Pirate dates are the same dates that they get released on streaming

                      • @illusion99: Right, so your 'fixed' comment was just trite, just like your continuation of comments here.

@FabMan: Wanted to see how long I can keep you posting. Seems a lot

                          • @illusion99: Ha, I knew you'd do that. Tried being a smart arse, failed, so you tried changing it so you are actually a 'troll' not a fool. But, I got your number, a fool you are.

    • There are people who like to watch it on a very big screen though 😆😆

Normally I'd agree, but I'm kind of glad I saw this one at the cinema. While it wasn't the greatest movie ever, there were some really awesome scenes involving music which I suspect were way better for having heard them through the massive theatre speakers.

I have seen a few Marvel movies in the last two years just because I enjoy going to the movies. I appreciate the CGI but I find them all so similar and not that interesting. What am I missing or is the target audience mainly comic book fans?

    • +4

Nah these are far removed from the comics, the issue these days is rushed writing and pre-rendered fight scenes that need to be forced into a film even if it doesn't fit the story. Some scripts like that of multiverse of madness, were knocked up on the fly during filming.
Disney wants to get it's content out quickly so the have a constant stream of new things to drop onto Disney+, so the the harsh deadlines are really hurting the quality.

    this is more like PSA

not finna block the tag yet cozz i like reading the beef
more often entertainment than the movies itself

Someone did suggest an FYI category, which I guess would sit outside the deals or forums. It's probably not a bad idea. Things like addition to subs, long running deals that people keep reposting, government schemes, refunds mandated by the ACCC etc. I can understand if they don't want an extra section of the website though.

Big Black Panther fan here, from the comics
Loved the 1st movie! I was going in pissed they killed off Tchalla :(
But ended up enjoying it all around. Also a Namor fan and didn't mind the Mayan change.
Give it an 8/10 Dying to see it again. Watched it on opening night at the movies.
I think there was one woke thing in the movie that I can remember. Lesbian Wakandans kissing at the end.
Not that I dont mind women kissing. But it was just so random and they were acting like it was an important scene. When we never even saw the girlfriend during the whole movie, Until that end kiss scene? Like we're supposed to give a shit.
After the credit scene restored my faith in the TChalla's legacy!!!!

We gonna post everytime something is added to a streaming service? NEG

  • +2

Agree, not a deal - unless it was showing the same time as at the cinemas.
Also not a deal if you already have a Disney+ subscription.

Moreso, most Marvel productions aren't what they used to be.
No point if people post every time there is a new show added to streaming.

Probably wouldn't renew Disney+ midyear, but was a good deal @ $30/y via VPN.
Most of the starwars series are pretty good though, and different if you have kids I guess.

This movie was terrible they should be paying me for my wasted time watching it.

@slipkord : Should mention Imax enhanced and first time with DTS sound on any streaming platform

    • Deal post has been updated

This got popular cause Social media made it about skin colour, but what is the point.. have you seen any improvements with BLM or just more rioting? who supports that crap

  • Besides the 1st black panther movie, which other marvel movies do we need to watch before watching wakanda forever?

Just curious, so we aren't lost on certain subplots, characters, etc
