  I always meant to read these books. Apple’s TV show was fantastic, but I’m glad I didn’t read the books (if the TV show is following the same plot). The whole “clones don’t have a soul” was such a disappointment when that was the “plot”. 1. No such thing as a “soul”. 2. Twins are clones, so they’re apparently not real people because they too don’t have a “soul”. For a “hard sci-fi” it’s a shame it went that way. But the books are very old so not a surprise, just disappointing.
