I expected this deal from watchnerd!

The dude has retired with enough profits from those Boost Mobile SIMs

    • He's the OG, I'm just a noob that likes watches, preferably Axis Power ones.

Nice nice but 39.5mm is too small for my wrist.

How big is your wrist? Mine is about 7" and own watches ranging from 38-45mm. All of my favourite watches are 38-40mm - Seiko Alpinist and Speedtimer, Junghans Max Bill chrono, Sinn 356 sa gr and 856 UTC, a bunch of weird Timex's, the new Citizen Bullheads…

Edit: forgot one of my super faves, Ikepod Isopode dual time. Fun fact: Jony Ive stole the Apple Watch strap design from his mate Marc Newson, and didn't even give him credit.

Edit 2: and my blacked-out Glycine Combat Sub 39mm

    Mineral

    • +3

Genuinely curious; what's wrong with mineral? The vast majority of seikos and citizens are mineral, although it's possible to get sapphire at this price point on sale, it's quire rare.

Nothing, like every other product it has it's pros and cons, some people just have a stick up their ass about it. Sapphire is more scratch resistant, but mineral is more crack resistant. Mineral is cheaper (and less premium in people's mind). Sapphire is far more reflective, which means it needs AR coating, but AR scratches easily.

Agreed, I've already explain in detail in a different post that I don't care about crystal type at all. Like the type of dome on my Max Bill Chrono is acrylic and awesome. I've never had an issue with mineral, except an SKX that I thrashed and has a few scratches that I don't care about or can replace myself for cheap. My 856 UTC lasted a couple years before the AR started to look gross so I had to get it replaced at significant cost. Sure, the greenish blue hue is cool but the 856 is supposed to be a tool watch and I treated it as such. I should have asked for no AR on the replacement.

          Interesting didn't know that thanks.

@n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: That's why you will find on most premium/high end watches, the AR will only be applied to the underside of the crystal, giving the AR without a risk of exposure and scratching.
