Floor Stand to Mount 43" Screen above My Desktop and Monitor Set up

Rather than mounting on the wall, I want to (have to unfortunately) use a floor stand to mount a 43" screen above my desktop and monitor set up.

It should like similar to this set up but the larger monitor is on a floor stand rather than wall mounted.

If anyone has any experience with this or can give advice on a suitable floor stand that is high enough it would be much appreciated.

My monitors on top of my desk reach a height of ~115cm.

I did the math on this and it doesn't work. Not enough clearance.

Stand 52" at center of tallest position = ~132cm
Monitor ~56cm height
Half monitor ~28cm hangs below center point so vesa mount is higher so it will actually be more and hang lower
132cm -28cm = 104cm from base to bottom of the monitor

My 43" monitor is also has a sunken vesa mount so I'm limited to a 200x200 vesa mount device :(

If you have space for desk to start 31cm away from the wall, put this guy behind your desk and sit it on top:

  • Did you search Amazon for other stands to see if they are tall enough?

  • 55" with 52" mounting seems the highest that I can see for the vesa mount I require.

There is a rolling mobile TV stand that is 72" at its tallest height but it's the wrong vesa mount unfortunately

I guess I could sell the monitor and replace it with something that handles the mounting better.

Yeah that's all I am seeing as well. I think for such a large TV it will become easily top heavy so they don't want to be responsible for the stand being bumped and the TV toppling over and being broken.

If you're handy you could get a timber benchtop, screw some large L brackets at floor-level to prevent it from falling foward (or screw it to your desk if it's solid), then attach the monitor to the benchtop with any mount. You're basically just creating a wall in front of your actual wall.

I've used one of these before for similar setups: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/174968197277

    • Yeah that is decent and the larger model is tall enough but I have the LG 43" monitor which has a sunken 200x200 vesa mount so I don't know how to mount it on those bigger vesa mounts.

TV mounts usually come with spacers that will "raise" sunken holes. You can buy them separately if your mount doesn't come with them.

        • Thanks, I'll look into that
