  • Anyone played Katamari, and Kirby’s Dream Buffet, and compare the 2?? Seems like the same sort of game

    • +3

Reroll is awesome, Buffet sucks and has no single player content. Reroll is a steal at this price.

      • +1

Yeah, kids got a Nintendo card for Christmas, and bought Kirby. It sucks

    • +1

Kirby's dream buffet is basically a Fall Guys rip off.

Katamari holds up even 20 years after its initial release

The Katamari series is amazing, the songs and memories have stuck with me for over a decade.

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked up both Taiko games. I already own Katamari, and highly recommend.

Weirdly, the Taiko bundle was on sale at a cheaper price earlier, but they've swapped the discount to just the individual games.

    • Picked it up the cheaper bundle, great game for Taiko fans, story mode is aimed at kids, decent array of music and unlockabled across both games, I suppose this deal is good for someone who doesnt want to commit to the series, or haven’t played it before??

    • Yeah, I feel dumb for not picking it up then at $10.64 mere days ago. This strategy will be a lot more lucrative for the publisher.

Standard request for recommendation for a cheap but good drum controller.

  • So recently just played Taiko at Timezone and was heaps fun. Do these compare? How do you tap the sides with the joycons? Only downside looks like single player only.

    • +4

there are a few different options for controls on the switch. you can use the joycons as if they are the drumsticks (which can be a bit hit or miss. you hit the side of the drum by angling your joycon), you can use the touch screen and your fingers can be the sticks, you can use the controller buttons which is the easiest but least like the arcade version, or you can buy a third party drum controller of which there are cheap options (the Hori controller, and it's cheap aliexpress ripoffs), as well as expensive options which are like the arcade controller (the Taiko Force Lv5)

      • +4

if you want something more like the arcade game, then you will want the other taiko games on switch, as this one is an rpg. drum 'n' fun and rhythm festival are the ones that are purely the rhythm game, and those have multiplayer

  • Any other good switch games on sale?

    • Astroneer. Have a search through ozbargain

    • I like coop so stuff like moving out, tools up, shift happens, catastronauts, death squared, lovers in a dangerous spacetime, and then overcooked ofc. Oh ni no kuni looks nice, and yooka laylee

  • I don't have taiko games on switch, had on wii u.
Is Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventures OK, or do I want the base games. Or should I stick to wii u?

  • +4

Fair warning. I've now learned this game is highly addictive for 5 year Olds..(and their parents)

Just beat Katamari Damacy. Thanks for posting this deal OP. The game was fun and quirky, not too long to beat which is exactly what I was looking for!
