Remember when they do giveaways for back to school they verify eduction status more often so make sure you can justify the use of education pricing.

Have heard rumours that rampant COVID in China means no offers this year as they don't want a run on these by giving extra offer. So hope not true :(

For anyone that's used education pricing before, what proof do they require, and is it different requirements if purchasing online vs instore? Would a edu email be sufficient or do they need proof of enrolment/staff status?
They don't check if you order online and have the item delivered. They need to see your student/staff ID if you order in store or may check the ID when you pick it up from store.
Last time I did online order and collected in store I was able to show them the mail app signed into an edu email on my phone with my name appearing as proof. They do ask for proof even if you order online

No. Just because I'm waiting for the promotion at the moment and wish it will come. But, on the other hand, next Thursday is the NSW January 1st round university offer release day.
@OMG: OK let's hope you are right as I am waiting too! Have heard others say not happening this year as China not coping with COVID so no stock :( Hope that is not true.
@marketingpolice: Surely not? I know they've had an uptick in Covid cases recently but I'd have thought it would have been almost as bad in November, and they were dishing out gift cards like frisbees then.
Maybe they'll reduce the back-to-school window to limit sales instead? The sale window was already pretty generous (2 months) so it wouldn't surprise me.
For the last two years, it started on the first Thursday of the year.

Yeah, I don't think that's correct. Firstly, massive back-to-school market they're just…giving up if that was the case. They're not going to replace that with a generic "need a gift?" promo two weeks after Xmas. Second, clicking on the gift/Lunar New Year area doesn't give any discount. So it's a nothing "sale".
Still waiting for updates, was hoping today would be the day. Holding off iPad purchase until this dropped. Has anyone had any luck getting retrospective discount if the sale starts within a week or so of purchase?

Yes this happened to me last time I bought a MacBook in December only to see a free AirPods deal in January. There is a grace period of 30 days where you can return the items for a refund if you change your mind. I asked the store person how I can get the AirPods since I already bought them MacBook before the deal. He told be just return it get the refund and then buy it again to get the AirPods which is what I ended up doing

I cannot wait and bought it last week haha. And the staff said that I can make up for it if the promotion releases in 14 days. If not, I can return it and rebuy it.

Yeah was thinking the exact same thing.
I am looking for a secondary student for a BYOD device… so need it no later than 2 weeks time (wife qualifies for edu pricing).
Problem now is any spec customisation (eg ram) pushes the pick-up date 2 weeks!Might hold off another week…
