Is It Possible to Get a JB Hi-Fi Gift Card Changed to a Good Guys One?

Hi Ozbargainers, looking for some advice from the hive mind.

Long story short, I got a $1300 gift card from JB Hi-fi as an insurance claim, would I be able to somehow exchange this card through JB or GG for a GG one?

Long story long: I'm trying to use the gift card to buy a new fridge, but for some strange reason none of the JB Hi-fi stores in NE Vic sell them! Not keen on driving the 3+ hours to Melbourne, so hoping to get the card exchanged as JB and GG are part of the same group. Anybody have any ideas on how to do this through official channels?

      OP could literally call or walk in-store and ask for that store to order one 😂

    Did you ask them to order it in/transfer between stores?

      Yep, it's a logistics issue as they are situated on the basement level of an old department store building (Mate's Building in Albury) and apparently their cargo elevator is tiny

            Stores meaning more than one I'm guessing..

        We had a claim ten years ago with SGIC. Was given store credit at a particular HN, which wasn't our closest. It was on my way home from work though. Was able to spend on anything in store

        5 years ago, Youi gave me Sunglass Hut and JB Hifi gift cards. Store credit to HN, Camera House and Sunglass Hut. I prefer GC as you dont feel the need to just get stuff at once and can wait for sales to get whatever.

    If you know which one you want and its on the website your local store should be able to order it in. I ordered in a split system at my local store in Victoria even though only the Queensland stores have them.

    Having read a lot of horror stories on here I'm not sure why you'd want to throw away a perfectly good JB gift card.

    If you really want that particular fridge you could order it click and collect then get your own courier but I don't think that's going to be the cheapest option.

    Start rining around stores that have it in stock and see if you can talk them into overriding the delivery limitation locally and see what they want to charge to get it to you?
