The Polaroid one appears to be FHD. The one linked is only HD
Fair point. The Polaroid also has a 12V car adaptor.

Sold on the Polaroid.
I wonder if it also supports image manipulation:

That Polaroid image stuff is pretty cool… thanks.
2002 called
Did they ask for that joke back?
Have we reached the point where it's safe to assume these things have reasonable digital tuners in them?
Edit: Yeah, it's got a digital tuner. The manual can be found here. http://polaroidaustralia.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/1075…
DVD player instead of blu-ray in a HD TV… fail.
Because it's 24 inch 1080p I'm wondering, who's buying this and for what application?
This is the middle ground that delays the purchase of a 42" for the bedroom that will just want to burn my corneas as i try to sleep …
I don't have an issue with a 55" that I have set to a very low brightness, which has a nice side effect of making the blacks very black.
the trap card is the 12v support
all the boomers would love this for their $50,000 jayco
@tonyjzx: Ah, gotcha, that's something I didn't think of.
Motorhome and caravan use.
I still have an early model 24" LCD in the kitchen… It lets us have something relatively unobtrusive on in the kitchen during the weekday breakfast rush,
Even back when I bought that, the majors had given up on this end of the market. The closest thing that I could find to a recognisable brand was Teac and even then it ended up being a rebadged, generic model.
Funnily enough, looking at the manual for this Polaroid model, it seems that this near identical to my years old Teac. I wouldn't be surprised if it has literally the same internals.
I'm playing with the idea of hanging a 30" Samsumg Frame on the kitchen wall. I'll need to see it in person to gauge whether it crosses into "too big" territory.
Computer monitor with a Chromecast plugged in?
Yeah, it's crossed my mind. The list of LCDs on the market with speakers is pretty short… decent LCDs with decent speakers, that's an even shorter list, especially if you wanna stay in the general price ballbark as one of these TVs.
I currently have a Roku stick plugged into the existing TV, so I've experimented with streaming FTA TV over wifi from my HDHomerun.
At the end of the day, it's hard to beat the it-just-works nature of an inbuilt tuner. 🤷♂️
Different TV, different price. Wee bit smaller. Likely same quality.
