I went on dentist like 3 weeks ago on weekend when Medibank was shutdown and I had to pay out of pocket and claim later.
I paid around $500, today I received like $100 back from Medibank so decided to call them to see the breakdown.
Medibank asked if the dentist was Members Choice and it was but then advised me to call them and ask my dentist why they overcharged me?
As silly as it sounds, I did make the call and their response was like oh yea because Medibank was shut you were treated as standard client (literally told the reception I'm with Medibank verbally and on their form) so we charged you additional $250 that we can hold for store credit/refund. They also advised "don't worry others have also called and we manually fixed them"
Question is what if I didn't call? THEY would've not contacted me and would've kept it. What happens to others that don't follow up? That weekend it was busy just before Christmas and start of holidays.
Is there a way I can force them to contact other people and don't wait for them to call for their refund? Should I report them or I feel like I should do something this is bad.
Did you present a Medibank Private Membership Card on the day or just say you were a Member?
