I have this GPU, it rips through every game high settings 1440p/60-90fps. Also undervolted, card is using 90W load at 59c. incredible really given its close to a 3060Ti

    • thats not much better than a 6600XT, because i can get those frame rates at 1440p at high settings even ultra with some at 60 to 120fps depending on the game.

      • +1

        With standardised HW + SW, there's only about +10FPS difference, from 55fps (6600xt) to 65fps (6700)
        https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

        • +4

still 100 bucks difference just for 10fps gan thats not worth it. you might as well go for a 6700XT.

          • +6

@kungfuman: I think this shows just good the value of the 6600XT is. Per frame, the 6700 is better value than the 6700XT.
            6600XT -> 6700 = 15% more fps, 28% more cost.
            6700 -> 6700XT = 15% more fps, 22% more cost.

Just comes down to what you need.

          • @kungfuman: But it can be the difference in the future.
I went cheap with my 1060, and got 3GB instead of 6GB… and regretted it ever since. Now I’m forced to get a new card, where the 6GB would’ve lasted much longer

      • +3

The 6700 overclocks better. More compute units running at lower clocks means better efficiency too.
6700 is also based on a higher binned die than the 6600xt so you get better memory bandwidth which is good for higher resolutions.

        • +4

Also has 16x PCI-e bandwidth. If you put a 6600 XT in a 3.0 motherboard it's only going to run at 8x which can cripple performance in some games. Not as bad as the 6500 XT that runs at 4x but it's still a price cutting that does not occur in the 6700.

    • +1

90w is remarkable. I didn't know they could go THAT low. How much did you have to adjust the voltage and clocks? Did you find the performance loss quite minimum? (I'm assuming under 10%)

      • +1

dropping about 90-95mv (depending on your card silicone lottery) and dropping the core clocks by 200ish Mhz. Sure the performance drops about 3-4%.. but im saving 70W power consumption and 8-10c cooler temps.

  • Apparently it's not available and is coming up as $559 for me.

Just reloaded the page on my phone, ignore my previous. Must have been a backed up page on my pc.

  • None left in WA by the looks of it.

This item is probably okay since UMart has a few of them. I bought an item from UMart a few months ago, under the impression it would be brand new, but the box was opened, the accessories in the box were opened. It looks like either an used item. If it weren't due to no other retailers in Australia has it in stock, I would have returned it.

I had the same experience couple of years ago with a monitor purchase and i thought i am the only one

      • +1

Good to know I wasn't the only one. However, now I am not sure whether the discounted UMart products are brand new or returned / used.

    • I had the same experience also when I bought a 6600XT for $500 when they were finally starting to drop in price

Love the jab at centre con

Got notification for 6900xt and got excited. Was just in description 🥲

    • +1

Yep. Still kicking myself for missing the $908 deal

      • +1

Apparently alot of people got face masks 💀

        • Instead of their 6900xt?

          • @scottySK: Yep, check the post and go to the more recent comments and you'll see people complaining.

            • @JamYomb: Wow that's terrible. I almost bought one but went with a used 3080 instead. Wasn't sure if that was the right option but I didn't want to wait for delivery. Poor form by Amazon, hopefully they deal with it appropriately

  • Im waiting for a 6800 deal. Bloody mac os doesnt support the 6700's.

    • +1

6800 stock cleared out and sales will be few and far between

      • +1

Yeah i suspected as much. I only preordered the razer core x on boxing day sale. Happy to go 6900xt for that $900 as well but its just more than i want to spend but ill take anything right now if they go back to all time lows

        • I have the Razer Chroma X eGPU and I found the best use of this was a 6600XT. The cutdown 4X PCIe bandwidth (via thunderbolt) is a limiting factor and also a waste of a 6800XT+.

Are you using the card for rendering etc? The PCIe bandwidth might be less of an issue for that workload etc.

Best thing is a 6600XT runs cool and quiet.

  • +1

Let's hope it fits in my core v1

  • Probably the best value card for 1440 at the moment. Everything else has gone up in price from ATLs in October/ November.

  • +13

For that who have it saved, combining this with the AmEx $50 cashback offer makes this truly the cheapest it's been so far at $399

  • +1

Thanks OP, I bought one yesterday!

Running one of these from a recent ebay deal alongside a Ryzen 5600X and 1440p 144hz monitor. It's fine for smooth FPS in games at medium to higher settings but I do wish I got a 6800 or up so I wouldn't have to lower as many settings as often.

For the price it's still decent if you manage your expectations or are just playing at 1080p. It's definitely faster than the RTX 3060 12GB cards which cost more and I wouldn't use raytracing features at this level anyway.

I run a small -50mv undervolt and it's extremely quiet too. The coil whine at high FPS is louder than the fans but I can't hear it with the case closed up and open back headphones on.

    • Try tweaking settings with FSR and a mix of high-ultra settings to try and max out the frame rate

  • When and where were those 6600 and 6600 XT deals? Anyone have links?

    UPDATE: Found one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/736985 (6600 @ $299)

  • Amazing price

    • Nice reminder, deal updated to include MSY

      • Thanks but Umart supreme

Went with a 4090 and never looked back, resell value will be good meaning.

    • +7

A 4090? Lol why even bother to comment, its a top tier just released current gen card that cost more than the price of most PCs compared to a out going mid tier card. Its like going to a Kia dealership and going na went with the Lambo and never looked back, has better resale too, like…duhh?

      • -3

Where's this Lamborghini you speak of, resell value you say.

Buy one for me, a girls gotta shine, if not why are you hanging around Kia dealerships, last time I was in a Kia it felt like a amd card.

  • -3

    499 for 6700xt much better

  • +1

    Grabbed one for pickup, thanks!

I was planning on grabbing the Sapphire Nitro+ 6700XT for $699, but this seems like a much better deal. And with the savings I went and grabbed a Corsair RM650x on Amazon for $147 on sale.

  • $469 now?

  • Will this go back down to $449 or lower? Just missed it :(

    • +1

      hey @mrhonki
I'm not sure what ebay promotion this is (whether you need ebay plus or not), but I just got it for $445 delivered here with code SNSMD38WLRSXXJ7M
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/125617062176

      • Thanks @portard, but I bit the bullet and bought it for $469. What a deal though!
