  • Still havent received any tracking number for one ordered on the 24th. Hopefully it's because of the holiday season.

    • +2

I'd assume so and given Australia Post has only just resumed operations today, it'd be safe to assume so. Also from comments in other Boost posts, they don’t send postage tracking notifications and the SIM just turns up.

      • +1

I get tracking notifications every time they're dispatched - and @levqchi, orders I placed over the weekend were dispatched today as well so it's par for the course

      • +1

You need to dm live chat for tracking info

    • +1

Also didn't get tracking info, ordered in Nov. SIM just showed up a few weeks later. I'm in Perth.

    • Strange. Ordered twice, both received in timely fashion.
One was with tracking info, the other was without. Just check the mailbox and voila!

  • +1

Mine was sent untracked. Also, they won't provide tax invoice for the 12 months prepaid plan.

    • +1

never got tax invoice from boost. Do they give out

      • +3

I lodged a complaint re the tax invoice. Got a full refund.

  • +1

Anyone know how many expired plans can be associated with one account?

Asking for a friend, who has 4 expired and one active showing on their app.

    • "friend". Shhh…
    • +4

I have 9 expired and 8 active so..

  • +3

Anyone getting this error? "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

    • +4

I’ll take a wild guess: you are?

      • +2

Been having that error for a week. Boost and Telstra chats have been useless, boost call centre even more so

    • Yes, seems to happen when you order more than 2-3 in a less than one week. Try using different email and credit card, and also try incognito window in your browser.

      • Still doesn't work :(

        • Maybe wait a couple of days then try again, that worked for me last time.

    • Try a different email address. Previous members seem to encounter this problem when their email is already in the system.

Pinging @WatchNerd to add more $$ to his retirement savings

  • +1

I'm probably on some list with the amount of boost numbers I have under my name…….

    • +7

Cops be going crazy trying to find the dealers. Now its like a needle in a haystack

      • Just a wild guess, but maybe the dealers choose not to take advantage of cashback offers. Presumably they can offset telco costs on the tax return anyway.

    • +1

I think im blacklisted cause i cant buy anymore

      • How many did you buy? And in what time frame?

  • Can you recharge with this?

    • +1

Of course. Just scream at customer service until they relent

  • What is the other free sim you can get to keep switching between boost and that sim?

    • +2

I don’t bother with free SIMs now that it’s easy to get paid to have a mobile service

  • +1

Hope they fixed the ‘something went wrong’ error where money is still taken and no order confirmation email, no tracking and no SIM card delivered.

It has been a real struggle trying to get a 15 dollar refund from them. Nearly a month and nothing.

Has anyone else had the same issue ?

    • +1

      Wait they take $15???

Edit: Just checked and cant see that they did on that error

    • +1

Yes that happened to me. I got 2 extra charge and they wouldn't agree for refunds. I got all the sim card tho…
Don't know what to do as I don't need that extra sim card especially they didn't get the cashback

    • I see your comments several times. It may be helpful to tell the card you used so that others can avoid it. In most cases, it doesn't charge on the card.

  • How long does it take for an expired SIM to disappear from my boost account/app?

  • Will I be eligible for cashback if I activate within the 30 days but then port out afterwards?

  • Got the "we are unable process your order" error and tried two more times with the same result. Sure hope I don't get charged 3 times….

    • +1

If your order can't be processed, there can't be a charge made. The "unable to process" response is usually because you have too often used the one form of ID. I find these Boost Sim deals run smoothly by having 3 different email addresses, and 3 different forms of ID (licence, Medicare card, passport). Then it's a matter of jumbling email add/s and ID forms to purchase each offer when it's posted. 3 EML and 3 ID gives 9 possible combinations, which covers 9 deals.

      • That can't be right - this is the first time I tried to buy sim from Boost. Also I don't think that the website asked for my ID details during checkout. Just name and date of birth, iirc. I hope you are right about being charged, although I've seen other users commenting that it happened to them.
Thank you for the tips about using different IDs though. I'll see if I can get it to work.

        • You are right. You are not required to provide ID details when buying the SiM, just at activation.

From memory, and it's a while ago since I encountered it, but I had some "browser issues" when buying from Boost. May I ask which Web browser you have been using?

PS: My purchase tracked today in less than 5 minutes.

          • @Charlie Dont Surf: I tried noth chrome and firefox and they don't work

            • @Koipanda: Firefox is my preferred browser, but I will always try Chrome if something doesn't work in FF. If it fails in Chrome, it's likely NOT browser-related.

FWIW, I do all my cashbacking through Microsoft Edge these days.

      • How many of these have you bought?

  • Do we need to wait 30 days before we can port back into Boost?

  • I only recently changed from a plan to a one year prepaid. When that runs out next year is there any issue with switching on a monthly basis using deals like this, but keeping my same number?

  • Purchased: 06.24am
    Tracked: 06:25am

    Blistering!

    • Likewise. Only took 1 minute after buying for tracking to show.

  • didn't get track again, disappointed, I only buy one

    • Did you submit a claim?

      • not 7 days yet, will do it tomorrow.

  • Support is useless. Still have not received my replacement sim.

  • Sorry I'm going to ask a dumb question - could people just "buy" the SIM card and not use it at all to just get the $3.88 profit?

    • +1

If you don't activate it, you don't get the cashback. You could activate and not use it though.

    • +1

Need to activate the sim within 30 days of purchase to get the Cashback. Once activated, you don't have to use it, but why not put it in a spare phone or tablet?

  • How do you guys get around the problem when activating the SIM card when it says "Something went wrong…"?
Something to do with activiting with a name with an existing account or something?

    • Contact support via chat and they will activate it for you.

  • How long is this deal lasting?

    edit:
    5 days left??

  • I just tried porting and I got a system error - went through to chat and they tell me there is a system wide issue with activations and ports on Boost at the moment. However, I just activated a new service under my husbands name and it went through fine…think it might be linked to how many times I have activated sims with boost under my drivers licence - who knows!

Edit: I was able to activate all 4 services just fine using an incognito window - so I think customer service was mistaken…

  • Just wondering, if cash back will be tracking if I buy the sim for someone else using my cc and other details? (PS: I've already bought one for myself.)

    • I think it should. If it doesn't, file a claim.

  • +1

    I bought 3.

Then it wouldn't let me but anymore.

  • Does anyone have a list of sign up bonuses or whatever they use these Sims for that they're happy to share?

  • Is it auto recharge like kogan or you can have no credit card on the file for end of month recharges? Also will it work in a telstra modem?

  • Tried to order but got the error "Sorry, we are unable process your order. Please try again later."

    • +1

Ive had this issue for over a week, have literally tried every idea to get around it: different browsers, private/incognito mode, different computers and devices, different internet. Have chatted with boost and Telstra online chat, multiple phone calls to boost call centre who are useless - they all keep saying “it’s fine on our end”, “try the (above) solutions”, “get someone else to buy it (with their details) for you and activate the sim under your name”, till eventually one boost call centre rep just said buy a sim in store, call up and recharge/activate and they’ll refund the $3. (Obviously not what we want - cashback). I tried having a friend help buy but they had the same issue come up. Few days later I got a family member to buy and it worked, can’t figure out why this issue kept persisting.

      • They now say it has to do with the cash rewards tracking link.

The issue is with the link being used on the cash reward. You can actually try to place an order directly on our website and it will allow you to submit the order for the same deal. Our Technical Team will coordinate with Cash Reward to check the issue with them.

        Can someone from cashrewards help?

        • Strange, as one of the “solutions” I tried was to not go through Cashrewards and direct to boost website instead and I had the same error message. When I got a family member to help make the purchase it was via Cashrewards and it worked

          • @Yamato: I tried entering other details like a different name but it still didn't work.

        • +2

They have fraud system in place that blocks after 2 or 3 purchases. You can try different email and it may work. Has nothing to do with CW link; they're making up excuses. Don't bother asking rep or CS refer to here

          • @dingdong3000: Thanks for the info.
Nothing seems to work, I guess the ordering platform is so stupid that it won't even process legit sales.

Had issues with activation last time too, hopeless…

          • @dingdong3000: Thanks for shedding some light on this! Had so many unanswered questions

  • Can I retain the same phone number?

  • Thanks OP. These are great for watching live sports while in transit. Also would allow me to downgrade to the $200 sim instead of the $300 sim since the extra data is not needed.

  • just get more issues, not happy at all, I have $5.32 credit balance in my account but after getting contact representative my account's credit balance was deducted by $18, should not happen at all, now my credit balance being negative -$12.68

  • I ordered one of these. Still have not received the sim card in the mail. Contacted Boost for tracking and it says last scanned on Jan 4th in Victoria.I'm about to miss the cashback window because I can't activate in time because I still don't have the sim. Boost say to contact Australia Post.

Anything I can do about missing the cashback?

    • +1

Nothing but you can ask Boost for a refund and you'll be even.

    • Same here, yet to receive my Sim card
