Looks like a small and inexpensive unit, good for the price though.
Seems to be recently released so there aren't any reviews out there.

Same price on official website, but 5% off via Amazon.

Although Gooloo GT4000S can power a 45L fridge for about 4hours, but I'd use this instead to be able to run it for a bit longer for day trips and Gooloo as just a backup.

Price is good but alittle worried that it's not for Aussie AC plugs

    • Oh darn, I didn't notice that. Hmm….
Its sold by Renogy AU so hopefully it should be AU plugs, lets see when it arrives.

    • +4

      https://au.renogy.com/phoenix-200-portable-power-station/

AU website does show AU plugs so hopefully its just incorrect photos on Amazon. 🤞🏻

      • Pretty sure what Ozbargain has taught me is that those are Chinese plugs, not Australian. Since its up side down.

        • Rounded prong — nope, these are US plugs?

          • +1

@Aloa: Amazon is showing US plugs, the company's AU site is showing Chinese plugs.

        • You have learnt nothing,lol

  • So this Unit would have a 17.34 Ah Lithium battery Divide 222 watts by 12.8 Volts.

    • +1

Right. What does it mean? Is that bad?

      • Would only run Car fridge less that 6 hours, would be ok for emergency.

        • +1

I'm just done testing Dometic CFF45 fridge on Gooloo GT4000S (99.2Wh) and that can easily "maintain" 8C temp for about 4 hours so I'm hoping this 222Wh can definitely last much longer. 🤔

          • @expatOz: I run my Kings 45 litre and Engel 45 Litre Fridge between -1 to Hot Days to 2 Deg Normal days. I Have upgraded from a 17.5AH Lithium to a 50 AH Lithium. Just put a Fused Noco Outlet on Terminals. Charge with a Victron Charger off Gid. We get Temps here last week up to 38 Deg.

          • +5

@expatOz: Isn't 8C a bit too warm for a fridge temp? I thought portable fridge is usually set between 1C to 4C.

            • +2

              @edfoo: -8 I meant, sorry :D

              • +1

@expatOz: Ahaha. But then -8C is almost freezer-like temp. To maintain your food and drinks at that temp, you obviously have to pre-freeze them first before you store them in your Dometic fridge, not only that you have to place your fridge under a cool shade and try not to open the lid as often as possible. If you have kids keep getting food and drinks out from the fridge all day long, your battery won't be able to maintain that temp close to 4 hours.

            • @edfoo: 100%, I like my beer Cold lol

            • @edfoo: great for yoghurt! not so good for milk. OK if you're just cooling beer, and are british.

          • @expatOz: I managed to get by with 720wh at 4 degree for over 5 days in vic summer so that capacity should be last a day easy, provided you don't add 10 600ml bottles at ambient temp.

            • @lgacb08: What?! Your cold beer just stayed inside the fridge for over 5 days and you didn't get to drink them and refill with new cans? Is this some kind of torture holiday? XD

    • Not sure if your conversion to Ah is accurate.
      Website says: Battery Capacity:14.8V, 1500mAh / 222Wh

      • +1

        Lithium's are usually 12.8 v for Conversation to Watts. eg 50Ah x 12.8 Volts = 640 watts Down to 10 Volts.Tested heaps

        • +3

I'm pretty sure these aren't LiFePO4 but NMC with a nominal voltage of 3.7V each. They look like 18650s from the picture and that would also make sense as Chinese 18650s might well have a capacity of 1500mAh each, so I'm assuming a 4s10p configuration with a total of 40 cells.

          • +1

@RubenM: Good point… I was presuming lifepo too. So it does have potential to cook food if you put it on top while charging.

      • I think error619 was assuming the voltage of a lithium battery around 12.8V, that's how he got the 17.34Ah capacity. The website is correct if it set the voltage at 14.8V, that should give about 15Ah capacity. Either way this is a small capacity lithium battery, enough for a day trip only. Not enough for overnight or two of camping trip if you are also planning to power LED camp lights and other electrical appliances. I personally run a 100Ah lithium battery for my camping trips.

        • +1

I think error619 has made no error. It might take 14.8v for charging, but the chance of it holding 14.8v is very low.
Have you ever measured your 100Ah lithium at rest, a bit after charging it?
My 100Ah lithiums sit at about 13v fully charged.

          • @rooster7777: I did not say error619 made an error. I assume he picked 12.8V as the nominal voltage for the lithium battery voltage, which like you said can stay around 12.8V to 13.0V from 100% capacity all the way down to 20% capacity, then the voltage will just suddenly drop off very quickly. Unlikely how an AGM or flood acid battery behave.

    Nice toaster.

  • +1

    Only one in stock

  • Did some research and does not seem to be one of those Chinese co like Bluetti. Have been trying hard to find a non-Chinese power station maker. Will get one.

    • Oh I would've though Bluetti is a good brand, but yes they're Chinese.
I wanted a Bluetti one but its out of budget so settled for this.

  • Can this be used to charge during day using solar and then run fans and devices at night ?

    • With a solar panel (purchased separately) of course

    • Could run your toaster for a slice or two…. alternatively a cuppa or two…. a big tv for close to an hour… a vibrator all night… a very small personal usb type fan all night… a big fan not so long.
      Choices choices!!
HANG ON…. inverter maximum output is 200W! Forget your toaster, forget the cuppa.

      • 200W Rated, 400W Surge

        • +2

Still not toasting or boiling the kettle.

        • +1

Little POS like this generally are lucky to provide their nominated inverter output at all. If it does, then surge duration is likely to be a matter of seconds, nothing more.
The renogy website makes no mention in specs of surge duration capability.
Quality inverters state their surge duration capability.

  • +1

    1500mAh just not enough

    • Must be a typo. Probably meant to be 15,000mAh or 15Ah.

  • what is the capacity convert to power bank?

    • Fund the answer, 222Wh=60000mAh
So it is like 3 x 20000mAh power bank

  • +5

If you have a single specific use for it that only requires 12V it would be significantly cheaper to buy a 20 amp hour LiFePO4 battery.

  • +3

You can also get a Cygnett chargeup with 260Wh and an Au plug for $254 (CYGNETT15 coupon).

    https://www.cygnett.com/collections/portable-power-stations/…

    • Thanks ezzaf!
Couldn't find much info/reviews about it but have grabbed one of these
Also I trust Cygnett to support their products more than some of the other companies (have already had an easy no questions asked warranty replacement on a phone charger a year or so back).
Had been looking at the Bluetti or EcoFlow River units but they were still double the price of this.

    • Same message received here. Their website still shows in-stock.

My two cents worth is simply to buy one of these. It's a 30ah, and I paid $149 a couple of weeks ago, I think they will come back into stock. I chucked an anderson cable onto it, and will easily run a fridge for much longer than this unit. This Renogy looks pretty, but there's not much under the hood.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BNQMNKTB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

This 30ah battery feels like it weighs about the same as a couple of large tubs of butter. Highly recommend.

    • Is this brand trustworthy? So many LiFePO batteries out on the market with subpar components.

      • I Have the DIGI MARKER 30 Ah and the 50 Ah, Got them both on Feebay. Quick Delivery too.Tested both with Capacity Tester. !00% Good.

        • Same, I dont have a capacity tester, but I do have a little (slow) Victron charger with bluetooth and it tells you the amount of ah put back in to the battery after it has gone dead, and it was a smidge more than 30ah. Very happy, and would buy again. These things are so light, you could fix them to your vehicle with some velcro or something, which is what I am looking at doing.
