Was looking for a wireless charger as the last $14 cheapie from Amazon is giving up after a year or so. This came across as the cheapest from one of the known brands(per my standards).

They don’t mention wattage for charging unless I am going blind but reviews seems to be positive. My main reason for trying this is braided cable as my previous chargers always fails at the connector on the device end but YMMV.

Copy/paste from Amazon listing.

  • “They don’t mention wattage for charging”

I suspect that means it’s not a certified MagSafe charger then…which means you’re limited to 5W charging as it’s probably just a glorified Qi charger with magnets.

    • +1

Actually I wouldn’t be so quick to discard it:

The ESR claims 2h 45 minutes charge time which is the tested time from the Apple MagSafe below.

Obtained via the listing itself for the ESR and Apple review below:

      https://www.phonearena.com/news/iPhone-13-pro-max-charging-s…

“However, while you would think that this means MagSafe charges twice as fast, that's not really the case.

In our testing, using the Apple MagSafe charger, it took about 2 hours and 45 minutes to fully charge up an iPhone, and that's a full hour more than with Apple's 20W charging brick and a wire. But that number really depends on what charging brick you connect your MagSafe charger to. Other tests have shown that using Anker's 30W chargers connected to MagSafe resulted in faster speeds and a full charger reached in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

And compared to a standard 7.5W Qi charger, that takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes for a full charge, so it's safe to say that's not all that much of a difference (30 minutes more compared to MagSafe with Apple's 20W).”

      • The thing about fast charging is it can charge your phone fast in the first 30 mins, like it can probably charge from 0% to 50% within 30 mins or so on a 15w to 20w brick and it starts to charge slowly onward, while it might take an hour for a 7.5w charger to charge from 0% to 50%. That's the biggest appeal for a fast charger anyways so if they only talk about the time for full charge without mentioning the first half of the charge they are being dodgy

  • Question… Does this connect to a USB C or lightning port? Or charge directly from the brick?
