Not quite sure about the RRP of $959.99 but $249 + $29 shipping is pretty cheap. There was no stock available in SE Queensland for click and collect but YMMV.

There are other instant up Coleman 10P tents but are slightly different (eg others have main door on side).

Check the review, not great against wind

  • There are some pretty bad reviews about it not being able to stand up to the wind, being difficult to pack up, not being truly light blocking and I have seen other reports elsewhere about it not being waterproof and leaking in the rain, or even due to condensation.
Also note that it weighs 25kg and is quite a large bag, so not suitable for your average bush trek to a campsite.

  • Avoid, get the proper Coleman Darkroom 10P LED.

      Why?

Nice neg, but maybe try wind issues, difficult to pack up, not being truly light blocking

          ?
          I didn't neg you.

Also if you're negging (or telling people not to get) a deal you really should explain why.

          • -1

@eug: The reasons are already listed by oz-dave.

@Jessie Ryder: Oh. I thought you had something to add (like personal experience) since you wrote a post telliing people to avoid it.

              • @eug: @eug I do, I have the Darkroom 10P LED.

                  @Jessie Ryder: You're missing the point. :)

You're telling everyone to avoid this tent, but didn't explain why. Now you're saying you don't actually own this tent, but a similar model with the same frame but with different fabric.

Wouldn't the same frame mean the same wind issues and equally as difficult to pack up?

                  • @eug: @eug No, because the fly is totally different, the frame is the same but that is where it ends.

Can I develop my photos in it?

Not sure why the neg. Perfectly good question for a product advertising as a darkroom

    • Bring your safelight camping. Ryobi do a 18v skin only safelight, great for mobile photo labs

  • We have a darkroom dome tent - it doesn't block light at all.

Not sure if the people that comment this tent are not good against wind or difficult to pack actually have the tent or not - I have this one https://www.tentworld.com.au/buy-sale/coleman-instant-up-10-… and it stand quite well against wind. Just make sure you tighten all the guy ropes.
It is not that difficult to pack, compared to traditional tent.
Yes it is heavy and big, making it not practical to carry over distance.

    • Totally different tent you have. Coleman have three tents in the 10P range.

      This one (cheap)
      Your one Gold (ok)
      Darkroom LED (best)

It's actually practically identical to the Gold one in base frame shape/size/build as well as for fly guy rope locations. If you read the reviews, plenty mentioned that it handled heavy winds without issues. (Interesting why some fair better than others…) So as @st33p said, maybe it just needs to be well setup. My friend just bought one so hopefully I get to check it out in our next trip.

Same frame, different fabrics and extras

        • Yep, but the rooms are different, 2v3
