  • Have one of these purchased few years ago.
    Made in Japan.
    Paid 3k

    • Any good? Worth it?

        Efficien, quiet and compact… recommended

We got this earlier this year, absolutely love it

Best fridge I’ve ever owned. My brother, then mum, bought one after they saw mine. Everyone loves it!

        • Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Can you please assist - how does the ice maker work? Is it really as simple as put water in and there is just ice there? I was going to get a plumbed model but if this just works it might be a game changer (as I was going to have to get the plumbing installed)

  • Is there another good large fridge with plumbed water and ice dispenser.. Our Samsung quottro is dying

    • We have a Fisher & Paykel one (RF610ADUB5) and really like it. Not an ice dispenser but it is an automatic ice maker, it fills up a dedicated bin in the freezer (you can turn it off and use the space for something else if you want).

  • Any other option that not made in China and less than 720 wide?

I herad WH, F&P and Electrolux all China made now now, not sure about LG and Samsung.

I think Hitachi also brings in Japanese-made fridges (which can be purchased in Hardly Normal), although they are 750mm wide.

Having said that, I have the earlier model of this style of Mitsubishi fridge which is almost 8 years old and hasn't missed a beat.

      • We got the 743L about 8 years ago as well. Couldn’t have done better.

    • There’s Hitachi, Sharp, Panasonic. Thailand made. Compressor from Japan.

    • WH & Electrolux are owned by the same company and made in Thailand.

I’m astonished at what people are willing to pay for a fridge.

Average ozbargain user when someone posts an expensive item that every person uses every single day, is essential for keeping food supplies fresh, and will last for decades: wow omg no way so Expensive

Average ozbargain user when $3k GPU that will be superseded by next year at the latest: *opens wallet*

        Guess I’m not average then.

  • Damn. I’m after the White one.

  • Oh man. After a new fridge but unfortunately this is too big for the space.

  • Won't deliver to SA

  • This was my preferred fridge when replacing a dead Samsung a few months ago.
Japanese made (this model anyway - some other Mitsubishi models are made in Thailand) and exactly what we were looking for in terms of fridge/freezer/versatile space.

Unfortunately our fridge opening was about 20mm too low and we ended up with an F&P instead. A few more "features" for the same money, but without the reliability of these Mitsubishi models.

  • We got the Hitachi unit, appears to be the same, except the Hitachi had a vacuum sealed compartment which keeps meat fresh for a lot longer.

Certainly worth the price, these fridges really are a step above everything else on the market as far as efficiency goes

    • Which model number did you get?

  • +2

Have this fridge, like this fridge.

The amount of space for its footprint is amazing.

  • Seems like it doesn’t ship to VIC?

  • If you don't have ebay plus you can always just try calling appliances online and asking them for a cheaper price. They have never said no to me so far…

  • Any thoughts on the CX450 range? A bit simpler (and cheaper) than these guys, and thai made instead of japan, but still 5 year warranty.

  • Just got this fridge delivered (white version). we had to remove two doors to get it in. pain in the ass lol.

the delivery people were so helpful though! 5/5

  • For anyone following and with Ebay Plus, this is now $3,521 with code PLUSFLASH4 (10% off to max. $300). Super annoyed it won't ship to Melbourne.

  • Really want sale on this one instead :/ https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/mitsubishi-elect…

    700L is too big

    • Here ya go: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/274987529095 (silver) and https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/304187070139 (white). PLUSDEC1 knocks ~$140 off…

      • 700L is too big and 470L is too small. Those are their made in Japan models.

Anyone own a made in Thailand Mitsubishi fridge? Any good?

The made in Thailand Electrolux I bought a few years ago is a lemon. I basically need to defrost it annually otherwise the fridge isn't cold enough (only cools to 10 degrees) . I've had it repaired once but that did squat as the repairer sent by Electrolux only changed the sensor which I don't think was the problem.

  • Still the same price with the code PLUSJAN1
