Hi all,
I am heading overseas soon and wondering how/if this is within the TRS rules
I have purchased over $300 worth of stuff from a retailer. Unfortunately some items are backordered and it is highly possible I will not get the goods in time before leaving. My invoice even without those items will still be over. Can I still claim as normal for the items I do bring? Since TRS has to sight the goods, it'll be obvious I'm only taking those goods anyways.
If anyone has any experience or know why/why not I can do this, that's be greatly appreciated!

I am asking if I can claim as normal for the items that are with me as together those items still make $300+Example
Item 1 - $200 - Bringing (want tax back)
Item 2 - $200 - Bringing (want tax back)
Item 3 - $100 - Backordered (not bringing, do not want tax for it)Invoice may have all items because of how they invoice
Then that’s fine.
Yes this would work fine. You don't have to claim the entire invoice and all items on it.
Download the TRS app and submit your claim there before you head to airport. Will have answered your question already.
thanks!
I brought 4 of the 6 things on the invoice to claim at TRS with the 4 qualifying for the refund.
Got to the officer and she took my receipt and asked to see all the goods. I produced the 4 goods and began to explain that I only wanted to claim 4 of the 6 items. She stopped me and said '…Surely you're not trying to tell me how to do my job?…'. I said '.. No, I just want to clarify….' Response '.. Up upbubup! I know what I'm doing…'.
I kept quiet. She refunded for the total GST for the 6 items and said 'have a nice flight'.
Not sure if she was trying to help me out or not caring or indeed arrogantly knew what was going on (but not)… Either way, I was happier than she knew.
You might get lucky!
Do we have to bring all claiming items as carry-on luggage now?
It used to allow for items to be checked-in, they just check the items before checking in.
Can anyone confirm if this is still allowed now?
Yeah. Anyone travelled?
I want to know if they check upon arrival.
