27 inch FHD monitor from a trusted brand like Samsung, LG is frequently marked down to $199 on Amazon/ebay
Even Acer is $168
so you are trading $20-$50 with a random Chinese brand.
This one is 165Hz

What you gain:
Hmmmm, seems like a good tradeoff..
@TanedaR btw, most LCDs are made by a few companies (Samsung & LG are the first that come to mind, there are a couple more such as Panda) - Pretty much just the non-screen parts are made by the company whose logo you see, and the OCD.
Watching a 1080p movie/game on a 27inch is too painful anyway,
1440p for 27 inch and 4K for 32 inch is a must.
definitely not going to buy one for entertainment.
only suitable for office use.
hence the hz should not be a factor to be concerned of.
Samsung and LG are both $199 on Amazon now.
they make their own monitors.
For other named brands, while they may come from the same factory,
you get better quality by higher QC standards
also consider better after sales services like warranty.
It's like a Samsung A series phone and a Nokia phone probably come from the same factory in Vietnam
but at a similar price point, one should get a Samsung of course.
At the end of the day, it's a balance of price and quality.

I mean, I kinda agree?
I currently have a 27" 1440p165 monitor, and I want to downsize a few inches (at least my main gaming monitor) as 27" is way too large for comfortable gaming/desktop use, but to my knowledge this is nowhere near the majority opinion.

If it's a work-supplied monitor, yea sure - but as someone used to 165hz, going down is kinda painful. Yes - Even for desktop use!

We're in Australia, not America — This should be directed at the store, not the brand of the product.
Dahua Technology has a pretty good reputation in Surveillance Systems (queue CCP jokes), wouldn't call it a random Chinese Brand
In Ultimo, Broadway, Central alone there are 3,300 surveillance cameras. The government wants to call it safety cameras, but i call it surveillance camera. Australians are being spied on
hate to break it to you but almost everything is made in china
There's also a difference in, Made in China, and, 'Made in China Under Contract'.
What you dont know it…Samsung has been purchasing LCD panels from Chinese companies these years. They only produces oled screen now.
I think it’s VA?
4000:1 contrast ratio — Very likely.
If you're looking for fast motion gaming, 165hz might seem appealing, but VA is known for black smearing and if you combine that with random Chinese brand that takes reject panels you're likely going to have a bad time. Pay that extra $20-30 more for an IPS 144hz.
Awesome price for 27 165hz delivered. Yes it's VA and 1080p but it's still a deal for sure
Warranty is really 3 years?! Seems hard to believe.
