The deal the other day was for physical console versions. This being the PC edition and like most PC game releases these days doesn't get a physical release. Only a digital download edition. Either way this is a great game and a must play if you like games like Ori and the Blind Forest, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Dead Cells and Aspire - Ina's Tale.
Some games just play better on a controller too.

Yes yes you can plug your PC into your TV too but it's also not the same.
Isometric and fps games are about the only ones I prefer on PC.
@dreamstation: Adjust the sensitivity. It is the same. Consoles are just crappy PCs with proprietary software.
@dreamstation: I played Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro on PC, on a TV with a controller and it was a far superior experience to console at 60fps with no framedrops.
I'm not a PC master race snob by any means, but just sayin', 30fps and lower on consoles sucks balls.

Xbox Controllers are generally more widely supported and used.

But they are wireless and so will need a USB-C cable to connect to the PC (ie a recent phone charger or similar) or a wireless adapter for the pc to see the controller. Xbox charge cable (with a rechargable battery) is $19 at JB or $29 microsoft brand.

@teereb: A few dollars more then save your headache. I found it is worthy. Mother broad Bluetooth has issues sometimes when reconnect your controller. Xbox USB adaptor solved smoothly. My 2 cents.
I've never found a controller to be superior. But then I've never really ever played console games much.

Yeah, It shows up in my library and email confirmation, not sure what's going on. Hopefully it works out for us.
I got both. My library shows four copies of the game. Two DC and two normal. Two are the game, and two are extra content.

Not sure if it's an error but "Death Stranding" is showing as free, with "Death Stranding Director's Cut" is showing as A$35.99 not sure if this is an error or if OP's made an error, at this point I have no clue, I don't think there is any real difference between the two versions.

Standard version is free. Initially the put the DC up for free by mistake, some of us were lucky enough to grab it after perserving with the servers being hammered and timing out during checkout
Just played Death Stranding for like an hour and a half. Beautiful graphics but I don't get the game.
It took about 5-10 hours for it to suck me in. The first was pretty bewildering for me.
Same - but the 90 minutes I spent playing was 80 minutes trying to skip through cut scenes and only about 10 minutes actually playing.
I can't even seem to get in a vehicle or anything either.

It's an interactive movie… Sad to say lazy excuse for a game, maybe it's a game for casual gamers. Sad, again, that a lot of big game studios (looking at you Sony and your AAA games) are going that way, 60% interactive cutscenes and some 40% actual gameplay, interrupted by…. Cutscenes.

I'm happy with the standard edition, but this is a great example of how to turn a promo into a negative. A lot of people are going to feel ripped off rather than rewarded and while they are in the wrong and entitled, that is the exact opposite of the sentiment a promo is suppose to buy you.
And the standard game is showing unavailable now, search only brings up DC and upgrade option. Someone messed up bad here.
