Is it recommended to join Nintendo switch when setting up or can it be done after?
Got it for son Xmas and about to set it up.
Any deals on membership or have I missed some past good memberships deals.
And can I join anytime, is there any benefits from joining and why
You can share the membership with other people to save money, works out to chump change per year. Goldeneye is coming next year to the membership btw.

Expansion pack (the more expensive one) let's you play DLC for some Nintendo games (animal crossing NH, Mario Kart 8D and Splatoon 2)
There's also currently double gold points for expansion pack members (10% instead of the usual 5%) for buying digital games and DLC, only until the end of January.

Usually ~$7 for basic or $14 inc expansion for the year to join someone's family membership in the classifieds. Need it if you want cloud saves or to play online. Expansion pack adds some classic Nintendo games and some DLC.
I’m still trying to get my head around these things and the gadgets you can get for it.
But I’m going to try get kids to use it mostly on tv.
I got them extra joy con’s I take these charge by putting on side of oled and putting it on dock?
And if I did not want to use that method I can buy a jNintendo Switch Joy-Con Charging Grip
As not only does it make it more a controller but also I believe charges lol.
I actually charged earlier today as batteries for this and lol does not need or use them.
It’s hard trying to keep two kids happy setting up or showing them what’s required.

I got the joy con Chariging grip not one supplied but purchased the charging one today and can some one tell me.
obviously we switch the dock or should I say console to sleep mode I yet to find if there is an off mode.
There is two usb slots on the side of dock so I plug one end into that and another into the charging grip.
Can this charge the charging grip with joy cons on while on sleep mode or does the console need to be on not in sleep mode?
When I put on sleep mode I never seen any lights on joy con grip but did when left on.
Can this only be charged through some part of the Nintendo or can you charge it with any usb somewhere else in house.
Also goes for when console is inside the dock with joy cons on it when on sleep mode are they joy cons being charged or does the device or console need to be on.
Switch Online membership? I probably wouldn't until you need to use it to play online or really want to play NES/SNES games (need expansion pack for N64/Sega), you'll miss out on cloud saves and getting the icon parts locked behind the membership but it isn't the biggest loss. There's a seven (really nine) day free trial as well.
