So got a call and it was a thick Indian accent with a noisy call centre in the background. He said he was from OzBargain a deal website. I have no effing idea how they got my number from here or associated me to it

Cost cutting. Even worse if you call in the afternoon you get the South African call centre. Those guys give the worst advise.
Those guys give the worst advise
Especially if you need mechanical help with your bonut.
May be its gonna be changed to Thailand with their new laws
Are you sure its not in the Philippines?…Like Manilla
Possibly OB has also been hacked
Not a member of any hacked cash reward program?
Ever thought it was a coincidence?

O - z - bargain
Ozy-bargain
Australiana Bargingtons IIIOr Oz Bar Gains.
O z bargain. I got him to repeat it a few times to be sure of what he was saying then kept asking him to repeat it till he hung up
Nice to hear Scotty is keeping himself busy over the long weekend.
Maybe you got trolled
I have no idea how he got my number from this site. I know i certainly didnt put it anywhere
If they are a scammer, why would they be honest about how they got your number
EG. the auto dialer will call every number 0400 000 000, then 0400 000 001, until 0499 999 999 and they will say the same thing whether it is amazon, microsoft, apple, amazon, telstra, tpg, ozbargain, any site they dont care, they will all get someone who has that. and thats it, It doesnt mean they got your number from anywhere except you being the next number in the line.
Did you compare / sign up to energy plans or internet plans via econnex in the past?
Nope
They could get it from any link you have clicked off ozbargain. EG you clicked and visited a website and entered your details, or you entered a competition again after clicking the link from ozbargain.
In all cases they would know that the site you were at before theirs was ozbargain.com.au - ALL websites everywhere in the world know what site you go to before them and after them. It doesn't actually have to be a link - even if you type it in the address bar they would know.
But pretty funny for them to be using that and trying to scam you!
Of course they do it because a lot of people believe them! Imagine if the next page you went to after their page was a bank how they would then call you pretending to be from that bank and you would believe them as how would they know thats your bank! Its one of the ways they can scam you.
That's weird. I thought the OzBargain call centre was based in Vietnam.
