  • How's this any different to the Coles/woolies magazines they give out for free with the exception of yours being digital ?

All power to you for actually doing something you believe in, I think that's great.

However, most of what you're saying here are "one-offs" that do not lend itself well to an ongoing subscription (as someone who has produced ongoing content in the past).

        For example,
        - Cost-effective ways of reducing your environmental impact when grocery shopping
        - Money-saving tips beyond just saving money through deals and discounts💡
        - Grocery tricks and hacks for getting the most value for your money at the grocery store
        - Eco-friendly grocery shopping tips 🌍 🛒

…etc. are all "one-off" pieces - how many cost-effective ways of reducing your environmental impact are there? You'll make one list in your first issue, and then you'll have said basically all that there is to say on that topic. Likewise with the other topics you've listed.

Ultimately, the only ongoing pieces of content I see in your publication are the deals / discounts, and vouchers, and perhaps recipes and product recommendations / reviews.

        • Hey there, thanks for your thoughts on the newsletter. I totally get where you're coming from with the one-off pieces of information, but I believe that the newsletter as a whole still provides ongoing value to subscribers.

Sure, some of the topics I mentioned like cost-effective ways to reduce the environmental impact of grocery shopping and eco-friendly grocery shopping tips might seem like one-off pieces of info. But the thing is, these are topics that are important to a lot of people and can be applied on an ongoing basis. The newsletter can serve as a regular reminder for subscribers to adopt these practices in their daily lives and can even highlight new and innovative ways to save money and be more sustainable as they come up.

And the same goes for the money-saving tips and grocery tricks and hacks - even though they might seem like one-off pieces of info, they can be revisited and reinforced in future issues of the newsletter to help subscribers continue to save money on their groceries.

In addition to these ongoing resources, the newsletter also includes recipes and product recommendations/reviews, which can provide ongoing value to subscribers by giving them new ideas for meals and products that can help them save money and live sustainably.

Overall, I believe that the newsletter provides a mix of one-off and ongoing value to subscribers, all with the goal of helping them save money and live sustainably. I hope that makes sense!

Give us a few concrete examples of the hacks and tricks and the discount vouchers here, otherwise it is all just marketing trick.

If they can really help saving money (and time) nationally (instead of locally, in which for grocery, I find it hard to believe), you can even post them as a deal here every week.

    • Hey, here are just 15 out of many ideas I plan to share:
      1. Start a garden or backyard farm to grow your own fruits, vegetables, and herbs and save money on produce costs.
      2. Use a meal planning app to plan your meals and create a shopping list, which can help you avoid impulse purchases and save money on your grocery bill.
      3. Consider purchasing items in bulk online, where they may be cheaper than in-store.
      4. Join a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program to get a weekly or monthly box of locally-grown produce at a discounted price.
      5. Use cashback or rewards programs offered by credit cards to save money on your purchases.
      6. Take advantage of apps or websites that compare prices across different stores to find the best deals.
      7. Consider making your own cleaning and personal care products to save money on household and personal care expenses.
      8. Use a loyalty card or rewards program to earn discounts and free items.
      9. Don't be afraid to negotiate with store managers for a lower price on items that are marked up or close to their expiration date.
      10. Use a budgeting app to track your spending and identify areas where you can cut back and save money.
      11. Use a cashback or rewards program for your online purchases, such as through a browser extension or loyalty program.
      12. Plan your meals around items that are on sale to save money on your grocery bill.
      13. Consider using a grocery delivery service to save time and money on gas. I will offer comparisons.
      14. Join a club or subscription service to get discounts on bulk purchases.
      15. Use a budget-friendly meal delivery service

Some of these may seem obvious to you guys but I think I can provide tips and advice that add extra value. If you have any ideas of what should be continued, let me know.

      • Yesterday I asked ChatGPT for some money-saving tips (to enter a 25-words-or-less competition where I can’t be bothered to think up my own 25 words) and it came up with an amazingly similar list.

Maybe it’s already been trained on your newsletter.

        • Thanks. I stand by what I’ll be sharing.

  • Merged from Launched: Australian Grocery Digest Newsletter That's Good for The Environment, Your Budget and Well-Being

    Hi everyone,

I posted about this a month ago before launching and got some useful feedback. My grocery digest newsletter has now launched and is progressing. In a nutshell, the newsletter is about helping Australians save on groceries while doing good for the environment and their well-being.

I just posted for this week and covered ways to save money when grocery shopping other than having a budget. The post also covers eco-friendly tips for shopping. I share some handy resources you might find interesting including articles and apps. Check out this week here.

This is a weekly newsletter so please support by signing up.

    Thanks!

    • affiliate marketing or a newsletter?

      • It's a newsletter. It has affiliate links at the bottom connected to someone who is not associated with me. I was just sharing because he did the work to share the products on his website. Perhaps in the future, I will not include his affiliate links but for now, it seems to be appropriate. This is a free newsletter that is not specifically affiliate marketing.

    • -1

Not signing up with e-mail but from what I can see so far, it's just affiliate marketing. No different from usual spam blogs with affiliate links.

It's not affiliate marketing. The links in the email/post that I am sharing are affiliate links from someone who is not affiliated with me.

        • The links … I am sharing are affiliate links from someone who is not affiliated with me.

Riiiiiiiiight… ;) So generous of you to give all this affiliate traffic to this "random" person…

          • @pegaxs: Believe it or not, I have no connection with this person whose affiliate link I happen to be sharing. This means I get no money or benefits from him nor does he get anything from me. I was simply sharing links that happen to be affiliate because I am recognising the hard work he did to aggregate deals on his website.

          • @pegaxs: You can believe me or be cynical. That's up to you.
