Hello, I like the Lenovo Yoga 7i and am hoping to purchase soon. I have 2 questions:
First, the Lenovo store has the 7th Gen. With a student discount I can get it for approx. $1937 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LHRO0A9u9Vp8WS_pwdhgmdnM_jS…). Officeworks seems to have the 5th Gen for a much cheaper price than elsewhere for $1497 (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-yog…). Is it worth paying the extra $ for the most updated generation?
Second, it seems like officeworks has the same 7th Gen for just a little more $ (https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-yog…). Is it safe and recommended to buy direct from Lenovo? Or should I pay the extra $ and get from local store?
Thanks.
If Officeworks will price match on the later spec model then you will get it for the same price but also get a further 5% discount ($96.85). Also the Officeworks product comes with a $50 intel cash back redemption offer. Buying from Officeworks also means you can avoid delivery issues and also you get immediate use. The other advantage is if the unit has issues you can just go back to the store rather than dealing with lenovo. The Officeworks price match applies to online purchases from competitors.
As to whether to buy the later higher spec model, it comes down to how worthwhile extra benefit the improveed specs mean to your use. I would probably opt for the lower spec and pocket the money unless online reviews show it had issues or I had some tax advantages that made it not too more expensive to upgrade.
