    Wow… they are still expensive…

I think preorder is the best way to buy Switch games…

Yep, unfortunately first party Nintendo Switch Game are rarely discounted and usually hold their resell value.

    • Yep. Was hoping these would be sub 30/40 by now but I’m way too optimistic ahaha

  • I mean Zelda I got my nephew last yea is the same price, it's crazy! They hold value on used market too like wtf!

  • I just goty switch OLED delivered, I desperately need Zelda!

  • I recently got all of them and the one I wanted isn’t on this level of sale :(

Unless if you need it now, perhaps hold till actual boxing day. Sometime retailers (ie. HN) do flash sales. Usually Amazon / JB matches right away. Those price do come back often

Luigi's Mansion 3, Yoshi's Crafted World and Super Mario Party are currently $50.45 each as well.

Super Mario party is a bit of a dud compared to Mario party super stars though

  • Ya I grabbed Splatoon 3 yesty at this price. Bloody great

Bugger just bought pulled the trigger on animal crossing 2 days ago after watching it for months

  • Do these games ever come down on the Nintendo eShop - the kids have vouchers to spend?

    • +1

They do, but not very often and not by much.

You can track Nintendo eShop prices at DekuDeals (eg Super Mario Odyssey)

      • Thanks, that link should come in useful.

  • Will this probably be the best physical price for Odyssey for the near future? Have no interest in digital copies of games for Switch.

    • Has been $54 previously, but first party Switch Games are rarely discounted.

  • Sub $59 (Super Smash Bros), I pulled the trigger on this one

  • I've bought the kids a Switch for Christmas, but I don't know a lot of about the platform - last Nintendo console we had was an original Wii.

I noticed several of these games are a bit cheaper on FB marketplace. For future reference, is there anything that can tie a physical game cart to a specific user account or console, that might make buying something off the second hand market risky ?

ive bought several games from Facebook Marketplace. Also Cash Converters online can be quite good. Each store seems to set there own price which often isnt competitive but occasionally you get good deals even allowing for postage. I think I paid around $40 delivered for Captain Toad for example.

Facebook Marketplace can be quite good too as long as you don't have to go to far to pick it up.

I feel safer buying cartridges this way then discs. I also want the case for it. Cheaper deals can be had if you don't care for the case. Bought maybe 15 Nintendo first party games in the last 6-8 weeks.

  • Animal Crossing now $59 :(

  • Mario Odyssey now at $62 (-22%)

  • The only way to play them is Nintendo Switch ?

    • +1

Yes, these are first party Nintendo games.
