PS: I thought RIM was toast? :)
I see what you did there! ;)
Lol yeah it kinda came up all of a sudden.
Seems with the new device and OS , there may be jam on that toast ;)
Blackberry (jam) I hope
yeah I am going but the device is obviously a dev alpha and will 'expire' after a certain time frame and will need to be returned. It should be good as I am a fan of blackberry especially the qwerty keyboard… Not sure why all the hate for it because competition is good.
They're only a few months away from releasing a phone that will match hardware from other competitors and a few major apps away from being relevent to some people. I totally appreciate comments about them being bought out or going bankrupt.
It would be nice to see Blackberry become competitive again, but I think you have some wishful thinking going there. There is nothing on the horizon to suggest that they can pick the company up in the next 18 months to 2 years.
In fact, I'm trying to figure out where in this thread you're seeing any "hate", or comments about their imminent sale or bankruptcy (although a sale would probably be a very good thing at the moment). Certainly I'm disappointed, but then I'm still disappointed with Palm.
Have you not heard of Blackberry 10 http://www.berryreview.com/2012/05/01/loads-of-blackberry-10…
Also Blackberry actually seem to invest in their developers, give them phones/tablets and free development software etc. Have not experienced this from anyone else.
They also go hard in regard to getting government approvals, which are critical for business aswell.
From a consumer point of view, i agree with you BBM is the only real advantage at the moment.
Oh palm dont go there :)
Not trying to start a BB vs anybody thread, but are you not aware you can get the Android SDK for free and run it under Eclipse and then emulate it on your workstation? Of course you need to try it out on the real device sometime but the emulation goes a long way. There are various emulation profiles too, for different Android versions and sizes of devices.
I am pretty open myself, have android, bb & apple. My point really was the support by the vendor not just the community.
So did you get your new toy?
Yes, And its definitely a prototype. Its awesome though!
Can you give more details to what and where this is?
