Logitech - No Warranty for Non-Authorised Resellers

A post mentions that "Offical logitech is looking for any warranty claim to be under authorised reseller". This reminds me that many Logitech products sold super cheap are not covered under Logitech Australia warranty if the sellers are not Logitech authorised resellers.
In other words, these products may be grey-import products from overseas.

    For those who don't know.
Logitechshop (ltsaustralia eBay store) is an authorized Logitech reseller.

This applies to most brand products. Not unique to Logitech.

Apple are a rare exception and will honour international warranties on their products (albeit most often, they'll provide repairs and not immediately replace a non-AU device with an AU one as you would get if purchased locally).

  • Shouldn't the warranty be for the product and not where you bought it?
Surely they could tell a fake product from a real one?

    • Because importers add costs associated with warranties into the retail price of the product, along with other logistic and profit components.

      • And that trumps ACL?

        • Yes, because you didn’t but it from the Australian importer or their distributors. If you get it from Kogan or eBay then your recourse is through that seller, and Kogan would need to abide by ACL, but that has nothing to do with Logitech.
