Optical switches. Not good if you are looking to hot swap other non optical switches.

    • Do you have any suggestions for a wireless gaming keyboard in the same price range?

      • I got the redragon K621. A little more expensive but wireless and low profile. The volume knob is sweet as well.

Thank you so much for the recommendations. I thought the one in this deal was also wireless. You saved me $70

        • Maybe just opinion but I think low profile is even worse than optical switch

          • @Masticccc: Each to their own i suppose. I have the Razer Blackwidow at home and using the low profile one for work. When I'm home, I miss my work keyboard. I don't like clicky keys either and the sleek look is very appealing. But again, each to their own.

i wouldn't use wireless for gaming, i only use wireless for work.

        • The problem is that I'm playing on TV, so can't use wired.

@DontNeedThis: found a post recommending a k780 and can be bought around this price. second post mentions it also has nkro but can't guarantee that unless you test yourself.

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks mate, but that's not a gaming keyboard, is it?

              • @DontNeedThis: can you define what your particular "gaming" keyboard should do? the poster uses it for his tv gaming…

it has a flat back long enough to fit on your lap for tv gaming, supposedly supports nkro, is wireless, is silent so cant be heard when using a microphone in games, has no key rattle/wobble when playing on your lap.

                • @[Deactivated]: Sorry, I meant the keys are shallower than what I've usually seen on gaming keyboards.

                  • @DontNeedThis: does a longer key stem and longer key travel mean its better for gaming?

                    • @[Deactivated]: Not necessarily, some may prefer a shorter travel as it's less effort/quicker to actuate the switch

@CrispyChrispy: exactly the "mechs are best for gaming mentality" really needs to disappear. whats best is what works for your price/use case scenario.

                        • @[Deactivated]: Took your advice and got one. Hopefully will do the job.

                          • @DontNeedThis: cool, just test the keys/button combination you use in game for nkro making sure its not ghosting your key presses. keep in mind not every key needs to be pressed together example you wont be pressing w+a+s+d at the same time but a good all rounded check is:

                            (w/s)+(a/d)+(lshift/lctrl/lalt)+space+(q/e/r/f/1/2/3/4)

depending on what games you're playing and the combination you're using.

      • I usually recommend a wireless keychron keyboard for around $40ish more. A lot more room for upgrades and solid build quality.

        • without getting into the physical dimensions/switch types the only feature issues with the keychron (for a living room tv couch gaming setup) is it needs a cable to access the bios (no usb dongle), needs to be plugged in to charge every now and then (k780 runs on replaceable aaa up to 24 months), and is known for latency/some issues while wireless.

save your money, get a non optical keyboard.

i have this. it would be great if it wasn't optical. i have no options for other switches other then gateron optical ones that aren't that good.
